Crafting Confusion...

I need to fabricate some components to craft a Zero Point Quantum Chamber...

The two parts I need to craft, require 500 and 4000 refined dilithium respectively (I have everything else) My R&D inventory is showing no refined dilithium at all, but my Assets inventory is showing a balance of 721012 refined dilithium...

Is the refined dilithium I need for the crafting somehow different, or from a different source?

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

TIA B)

It should pull from your refined Dil on your assets inventory, though it might take a few seconds to register if you just withdrew it from the Dil Exchange.

Same dilithium, no different "crafting dilithium"

All I can say is, are you sure it is refined dil? There is only one source of dil that you can use and that is what is in your resources screen. Are you on a console? perhaps it is broken. I have only crafted 3 or 4 things that required dil and it worked like you'd expect it to.

Slightly off topic, you should craft things at mk II. They should not require dil. Then craft or purchase some upgrades(no dil but a little EC cost for crafting). The dil cost will probably be about the same (or slightly more) for a console and it could easily become UR or epic by the time you hit MK XII.

Some things cant be crafted at mkII. Aegis, and lvl 15 specialties.

That's what I thought... The dilithium balance has been thus (give or take a thousand or so used in upgrades) for about 48 hours, and my attempts on the project were about six hours apart, with identical results each time... The resources needed are all showing clear to be used, but the tab to begin the process stays greyed out... I'll have another look tomorrow and see what happens B)

Absolutely positive that it's refined dil, and no, PC... I could craft at Mk II, but I'd rather not grind all the ec to gret the upgrate tokens to get it to Mk XIV :D I figure crafting it as high as possible would save on that part of the process, and as mentioned, the resources are available, the tab to begin the project just won't become usable... :-\

you might not have a free R&D slot to begin the project, look at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen where it says R&D slots, if it's red their full atm

Oops, "Zero Point Quantum Chamber" I thought this was a sub-component of a crafted item, not a console. Shows how much I use torps. You can get those Mk XII VR on the Exchange for a pittance, which is the highest you can directly craft, and that's depending on your DOffs and crafting level in that school to get a roll at full rarity. Particularly good prices for most things Mk XII with the Crystaline Entity Event on, as CCA gives random Mk XII items for first and second place. No need to spend Dil to get one of those.

That's not the best way to do it. If you want a chance at an UR or Epic console you DO want to craft at mark II and use upgrades.

Each time you upgrade 1 mark level, you get one chance to increase in rarity one level.

Craft at mark X = 4 chances to go UR when upgrading to mark XIV.

Craft at mark II = 12 chances. And most of those cost almost no tech points. One superior tech upgrade will take a mark II console up to mark 8 or 9.

Check the exchange. Buy one. They aren't expensive.

Depends on if they are on the PC or console.

The problem could be that the OP needs a Matter-Antimatter Specialist to craft the two components.

Oh, I think I found the problem. You're likely not leveled enough in that school to actually make the item. It looks like there's an issue where you click what you want to make, and then a crafting sub-component at the bottom, and it'll take you to that part's page with no indication that you don't have high enough level to actually make the thing. I was wondering why you stated that you would have to grind out EC buy upgrades for it, when you should be able to craft Superior Upgrades in that school once you're the level to make Dil costing components anyway.

I don't get the button to light up for the Dil components either with char that only has level 3 in Projectiles, even though I have the Dil and the DOff (though, both do register for me, being filled in with color).

I think this is because you choose the mk of the item after you start slotting it. Which yeah, it should probably just not let you choose a mk that's too high.

FYI, when your R&D level is high enough (11-15?) you have a 100% chance of crafting mark II at VR quality. That gives you a good head start on consoles, and for weapons it means you already know what 3 of the mods will be before you spend any upgrades and dil. So no surprise in going from green to VR and getting 2 x Acc (gah!)
