I'm just wondering why we have to pay full price for the tier 6 variants of ships we've already bought. I've dropped some decent coin on ships over the last few years and now have to pay even more because they've decided to create a new tier of ship. The new tier is great but at this point, for example, I have spent $15 on a Tactical Escort Refit then $20 on the Tactical Escort Retrofit and then another $5 for the Fleet module to get the Fleet Tactical Escort Retrofit. Now if I want to keep this ship up to date I would have to drop another $25 for modules to acquire the Fleet Tactical Escort [T6] or $30 for the Tactical Escort [T6]. I appreciate that they continue to develop stuff to keep the end gamers going and realize they need to make money, but I find this to be a little ridiculous. At least when they came out with the original Fleet variants you were given a four module discount.

First off, for T5 fleet ships, if you own the ship it's a 3 module discount. Without it, it's normally 4 modules.
In all fairness, when you go for the Tactical Escort [T6] and get the fleet variant after, It only requires 1 module to get like T5 ships. T6 fleet ships would otherwise be 5 fleet modules.
Now as far as your point about it being unfair for us to have to pay for the same ship in different tiers: This is how it's worked for years. Take one of my favorite ships, the Akira (Heavy Escort). You have the free Tier 3 version, the Thunderchild Refit, the Heavy Escort Carrier (Armitage) at Tier 5, and the Heavy Escort Carrier [T6]. I didn't mind having to get all of these ships. Most people probably don't like having to to this, but like I said, it's how they always did it.
- Only one character can fly it
- Only one character gets an Admiralty card
- You do NOT get the console or the ship mastery trait. Fleet versions do NOT come with these!
Also, there is no such thing as a "Tier 6 upgrade," never has been. There are only T5-U upgrades. T6 is a new ship with mastery trait, console, intel seat. The discount you get is T5-U for $5.
