How can Paradox Temporal Dreadnaught use Chronometric Inversion as patch notes suggest?

The patch notes for today state:
Starship Traits: Updated the text on the Paradox Temporal Dreadnought's Rewardpack to state that its Unstable Anomalies starship trait can be triggered by Chronometric Inversion Field and Timeline Collapse.

I have a Paradox Temporal Dreadnought. For bridge officer seating it only has two specialist seats: 1 intelligence and 1 command. There is no temporal seat from which to use the Chronometric Inversion Field temporal ability.

My Paradox even has two BOFFs who also have temporal specialist training, but those abilities are not allowed when selecting the active boff abilities for ship.

So....how is it possible to use Chronometric Inversion with Unstable Anomalies? The only way I can think is that you use the Paradox ship only to gain the special ability , and then switch to using one of the 31st century temporal ships that has a temporal seat while setting traits to still use the paradox ship ability.

The Paradox is a great ship and it is EXTREMELY disappointing that a ship which actually has "Temporal" in the ship name does not allow any temporal seating. I would like to see STO correct this ship to allow temporal Temporal specialist in the command seat, finally making it a true temporal ship as its name suggests.

One can use the trait of the paradox on ships with temporal powers, can one not? :)

starship traits can be used on other ships besides the one they come with, you know

yes, I recognized that as i was typing the original post. The problem is that I want to use temporal abilities on my Paradox temporal ship. It seems silly that a ship with "Temporal" in the name cannot use any temporal boff abilities

I agree with you on that one and had the same thought as well. The Paradox’ fate is also shared by the Wells the Moebius and even the Annorax as a close to 1B ec craft. Unfortunately these time travel inspired/themed ships were all released before the temporal spec tree with the introduction of the respective boff powers.

It is more of an evolution issue than one of logic. While Wells and Moebius are tier 5 and could easily see a tier 6 release with temporal specs in the very near future the Annorax as a promo ship could get one too. Same promo ships just with different boff specs happened already and could easily happen again.

Sadly I have not much hope for the Paradox as it is “just” a lobi ship and it is already here in Tier 6 form.

My suggestion to you is to do the same that I did. Embrace the Paradox for what it is. A state of the bad TRIBBLE art sci dread with some pretty nice options given by intel and command. It can slot OSS3 giving you lots of power for energy weapons while getting unholy tanky over rally point marker at the same time!

If I like to toy with the new temporal powers on the other hand I just switch ship/toon. :)

If you want an off-the-top-of-my head, in-universe justification, the Wells-class and the others in its development family seem designed for time travel (time scanning, shielding, easily jumping around), with the 26th-century ships use time as a weapon via entropy control.

These two focuses seem to be able to crammed into the 31st century ships.

(Or since we had figured less time stuff when the Wells, etc. were being salvaged by Lobi, they weren't able to repair it).

OP was my question too. Sigh it would be nice to have a temporal seat but it is what it is. Thanks for the other input as well.
