Star Trek Online Lighting 2.0 Comparison Video Before and After

Hi Captains! I have created a long video going over some areas of the galaxy comparing in video Lighting 2.0 to pre-Lighting 2.0 before and after so you can see the differences the new lighting makes. I spent a lot of time putting this together, I hope you enjoy it, maybe it will help someone decide if they want to use the new lighting or not :)

It's a very long, and visual video, I really appreciate it :) Enjoy and have fun everyon!

Let me point something out as you are being inaccurate with your statements and your comments in your video. That is NOT a comparison of Lighting 2.0 vs pre-lighting 2.0. You're only comparing 2.0 enabled vs 2.0 disabled. 2.0 disabled is not the same as lighting prior to 2.0. It's been noted for example that objects were changed. Trees, plants, etc. I've no idea of the extent of it. But just goto the academy and compare the big tree in the middle vs a screenshot of a month ago. They're completely different trees. This was noted during Tribble testing with screenshots.

I would suggest looking at a few older videos of the areas in your video. A good example is drozana station. With the old lighting system you immediately notice you can see clearly out of all the windows to include the ones above your head. With the new lighting system with 2.0 disabled it's not even close to the same as it's dreadful vs what it was. I'm sure I could find lots and lots of areas like this. But I think I've made my point.

All I know is that I got a brand new gaming laptop, and I run this game on max settings, and it says the GPU can't handle lighting 2.0. There is no way it can't handle it, what is the problem.

This is not exactly Cryptic's fault. It would take months upon months testing every possible combination of hardware out there, even with a large team of people, and you cannot possibly expect Cryptic, or any other gaming company to be chasing the latest drivers from every company either. It's just too big an undertaking.. Just mail support with details as per usual, so they are aware of it.
