Alright, so after about 2 years of playing the game I finally decided to go ahead and do a science carrier captain because quite frankly, I'm just sick of chasing DPS and I finally want to play the game my way and and have fun, if that means less DPS and more fun I am absolutely fine with it.
Unfortunately, being an tanky engineering beam boat primarily, I'd like to try something different and I'm not quite sure where to start with science and I would like some advice on skills, traits and ship builds. I plan to play mostly a support-carrier role providing healing, buffs and crowd control to not only other players, but my hangar pets as well.
I have 2 dedicated Carriers I would really like to get some use out of, the Jupiter Class carrier and the Breen Sarr Theln. I'm not too picky about which one I primary, I like the breen frigates for their super shield drain, but I like the Jupiter for... well she sure is ugly, but the Callisto frigates are extremely powerful from what I've experienced so far.... as long as they line up.
I don't want to invest too much Dilithium, EC and zero Zen, for once without spending money like an overrated rapper, I'd like to get a decent build from missions, reputation and fleet gear, so advice is welcome.
I know advice on star ship traits can be iffy, especially if I'm not willing to drop hundreds of millions on a ship just for the trait, so below is a list of ships that I currently own that have a star ship trait.
Guardian Cruiser
Eclipse Intel
Phantom Intel
Jupiter Carrier
Command ship bundle (all 3 Federation command ships)
Dauntless Science Vessel
Temporal Dreadnought Cruiser (Chronos)
Breen Sarr Theln Carrier
Vorgon Xyfius
Kobali Samsar Cruiser
I also have both the Delta Recruit and Temporal Agent star ship traits.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and help me out, I appreciate it.
