Thanks for removing our ground kits and giving us nothing in return. Great job Cryptic!!!

Well yet again Cryptic fails in every way and i am not suprised that loads of long turm members have disided to leave STO due to the shoddy way it's been run these last few years. I logged on to find that every single ground kit i own for my favorite char has now been rendered useless and to add insult to injury we have been given nothing in return. What a complete joke. You TRIBBLE the graphics to please console users and then you go and TRIBBLE every fleet which had projects on the go with loads of commoditys wiped out for nothing in return and now you have basicly forced everyone to go and use ground kits that some of us didn't want to use with no warning at all. I have seen loads of players leave over the years and i fully understand why and now i am going to wait for the next lot of long turm members to leave once again because of this shoddy set up. Great job Cryptic well done!!!!!!

So, will be you one of the people leaving "in loads" ?

    Obligatory;
Can I have your stuff ?

Anyway, ranting and raving like you are doing isn't going to help your cause.
But hopefully it'll make you feel a bit better though.

EDIT: Also there is already about 3 or 4 other active threads about this exact subject.

I believe you are mistaken. The ground kits show up after you switch a few maps. I have not lost anything.

I beleive i am not my friend. I am on about certain ground kits being made useless and worth nothing.

@indyshark Yep. It's very likely it's just a bug with them not showing up until you start switching maps. The ground kits are still around.

They didn't render useless nor remove kits. They made them upgradeable and not dependant on modules any more. Like the few who anticipated and knew to switch maps a couple of times, I got my kit back.

I cannot even comprehend how people are claiming they have lost out, especially when Cryptic gave people what they asked for, which was upgradeable kits!

Yes, maybe if they had given us the ability to upgrade kits and modules, that would soften the blow. Instead, they gave us nothing.

@leemwatson I know right... Some people are just... ugh. Upgrade-able kits was a good call in my opinion. Now we can keep our ground and space kits up to date with each other, which should improve performance for ships and ground combat.

@bergins I thought the kits are upgradable as @leemwatson said? What are you folks on about?

Ah, that confirms it then; the kits are completely fine. I think that @hicks451's argument is baseless since others seem to be reporting that their kits are fine. I think Hicks is using some low-tier kit or somethin'.

They most certainly ARE upgradeable now! I should know, I've upgraded a few already!!

yea if your kit was chosen to be upgradable but some of us didn't get that option instead they chose to remove the kit completely and with no warning and no compensation at all. every single kit that i owned and loved has been made useless so please don't reply with fan boy remarks as i have been playing since the day it came out on 3TP with over 16500 accolade points so i know STO like the back of my hand and have put more hours in to the game than i should of so i have ever right to mention a few things in the forum and the way they have made huge mistakes over the years as well as TRIBBLE the members who make this game possible.

He's refering to the original non modular kits, they had their abilities removed and now just take up space in your inventory.

As for no warning, might want to take your head out your TRIBBLE some time OP, we have known this was going to happen for a few weeks now, it's been discussed both here and on reddit since it appeared on Tribble.

I "lost" a couple of MK10 VR dillithium bought kits, still keeping them for sentimental reasons though.

you guys are all misunderstanding... OP is talking about the original kits... the ones that had NO mods. Just a kit frame with mulitple powers... They got turned into vendor trash. The previous version all got swapped out for the new stuff... but Cryptic didnt do jack but make the OLDEST kit frames vendor trash.

As a player of nearly 6 years with 11 toons and over 200 ships to access as well as a vastly huge inventory of so many items I couldn't even guess at, I also know the game like the back of my hand and I've maxed out my accolades, and as the Leader of my fleet I make it my business to ensure I know what changes are coming. As stated, I knew to switch maps a couple of times to make my kit reappear with ALL it's modules too, which I have upgraded yesterday. I'm not being 'fanboy', I'm being factual and honest, so don't start with the insults my friend! Cryptic posted what was happening with the kits well before this happened on Tribble.

It really is kind of sucky that we can't see what those old Mk X kits would look like upgraded to Mk XIV. To me, that almost seems like they're afraid it would turn out to be the more popular option, undermining the demand for the newer, improved kits that force you to futz with modules.

Why do you keep including Trendy on these? She has moved on to other things. Midnightshadow whatever is one of the mods who has been the active one closing down Threads of late.

Can you elaborate how your kit have been rendered useless? Do you mean you have multiple ground kits stored in your personal inventory that you use for specific ground missions? Or do you mean the bonuses provided by your ground kit has been nerfed?

If you have multiple kits, then I see what your problem is because the kit modules no longer are contained in the kit and they spill over into your inventory slots. If the kit bonuses have been nerfed, then it's a bug and you should submit a ticket within the game and also make a thread in the bug sub-forum.

As for the benefits of what Cryptic has done, kit modules and kit frames are now upgradable using ground upgrade kits. Cryptic also gave all players 12 additional personal inventory slots; that also applies to people that have already purchased all the available personal inventory slots from the C-Store.

For me the 12 additional slots are a nice bonus, but then again at most I only had 1 - 3 extra kit modules sitting in my inventory slots either for very specific ground missions or for evaluation. However, there is a player who commented in the Academy section who stated he has 6 kit frames in his inventory and after the update he now has 18 fewer personal inventory slots; 30 Kit modules minus the 12 extra slots.

OP is extremely ignorant and doesnt read. Or he would know that was an error and there is a work around and a fix on the way.
