Obviously everyone has their favorite that might not win or has already lost the first round and some have a few that they like. So what do you think the chances of making a few of the losers into actual ships? Personally, I think that at least one or two of the loser ship designs will be made into actual ships eventually due to the Odyssey and Chimera from the Design the Enterprise Contest.

The whole "contest" is to create hype around the "final" ship, so that it sells. It has to pay for itself after all.
Any ship that ends up at the bottom of the list is just going to be waste... That's why they made it as drawings instead of full 3D from the beginning. It simply takes too long to build a player ship if it's not guaranteed to reward enough Cash.
I don't get it.
Except that the "final" ship is not going to pay for itself. It has been classified as an Anniversary ship so the only sales it will have is players buying Anniversary Prize Vouchers from the Lobi Store because they don't have enough time to grind for the ship or rather pay money to avoid the grind. The loser ships have the freedom to be put into a lockbox for some new alien race designed by Cryptic or as a C-Store Cross-faction ship.
The concept art drawings could be to figure out which ship to create first and which ships might be a good idea to create later on. Team Bravo got 40% of the vote, Team Delta got 31% of the vote, and Team Foxtrot currently has 41% of the vote. So Cryptic could create Team Alpha, Team Charlie, and Team Epsilon, but only create the winner first for the 7th year Anniversary.
How is it negating the point of the contest and voting? The contest is about determining which will be the Lukari ship available as an Anniversary ship in February 2017. Nowhere does it say that the Losers will never become available. So the second and third place ship designs could be a C-Store ship or a Lockbox ship.
Because the point of the contest is to choose one ship.
And there has only been the Jupiter Carrier vote. Each of those designs are based around a Starfleet Carrier so it would be hard to use the other designs for a new Starfleet ship. The Lukari ship designs are completely unique so Cryptic can use a losing ship for future alien races that we haven't seen yet and release them to us as an Event ship or Lockbox ship.
The point of the contest is to choose one ship for the next Anniversary Event. Nowhere does it say that only the winner will be used as a future playable ship and they will toss out the rest of the designs. After all, a "loser" of the Design the Enterprise contest was used to create the Chimera. So if they use a "loser" from one contest, then there is absolutely nothing stopping them from using a "loser" from this contest. From the Lukari Community Ship Voting Dev Blog:
Obviously, the winner will be released first and available for free in February 2017 through a grind since it is the point of the contest. While the others might be a Lockbox ship, Event ship, or C-Store Ship after February 2017 provided that there is enough interest.
There's been a grand total of two previous votes, Jupiter and Enterprise. And both the Regent and the Chimera were designs for the Enterprise that ended up being released even though they didn't win.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.
