So lots of stuff coming on Tuesday, like the new lightning thing, kit update, new episode, ect and yet there is no prepatch? Or at least I'm not getting one. Is that the norm or is it just something my end? Because if not Tuesday is going to suck when everyone tries to download whatever significantly sized patch all of this will produce

.
Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end of it.

If you have Tribble patched up to the current Tribble build; yes, when the patch goes to Live - your client will pull files from the Playtest (Tribble client) folder) and then continue to patch any changes they're done. if you keep your Tribble client up to date you don't need tp Prepatch if/when they do activate that for a major update.

Had a feeling that would be the case, thanks!
Nope, don't have Tribble, never did
We come in peace, SHOOT TO KILL!
WHY would there be one?
This is probably the most MINISCULE update that STO has ever seen. I would just call it a small patch not even an update. Does not need much room to increase a holding, perhaps a small FE and another lockbox.
Ah yes, because changing ALL the ways the lighting works in this game is truly a miniscule thing. And there's the kits too and how they work.
Me thinks thou needest to learn a thing or two about programming, good sir, before thy speakest thy mind once more. Or thou risks once more to sound like a jackass rather than a man.
So, just a late start. I'm seeing a pre-patch too but I didn't note the size (I just let it run while I went out.)
And before anyone shouts DOOOOOM, we're all going to explode tomorrow! keep in mind no one here (undoubtedly) is able to adequately explain why pre-patching is specifically necessary for "big" season updates but not big regular updates (which on rare occasions can exceed a gig). Reducing the server load should be a general concern, so why not always do it? Where exactly is the patch size threshold for pre-patching, and why there and not some other number?
Therefore, as a consequence of our collective ignorance, projecting the significance of a "late" (or non-existent) pre-patch may as well invoke blocking evil spirits from entering the player's instance as a main point. Based on how little we know about how this game works, it's just as likely to miss the mark (by some degree) as an "informed guess."

The Pre-Patch DOESN'T pull from Tribble at all. When they push it Live the Patcher will.
