Wells Weapons

What's the 'proper' energy weapon type for a Wells Class; Phaser (like the NPCs) or Antiproton (the Player Default)?

Whatever you want really. There is no 'proper' type unless your are using items which boost Type.

Unclear. I don't think we actually see their regular weapons. Unless those Subatomic Disruptors are the only type of weapon, in which case, AFAIK, we don't have an equivalent.

I see no real reason why the Federation would stop using Phasers.

Well... you could try a Chroniton build with the Temporal rep weapons. :)

Considering that the Wells Class is from 400 years in the future, wouldn't it use some type of energy that hasn't been discovered in the early 25th Century?

why? hell are there even new energy types for them too discover? and if so why use that instead of stronger better focused phasers.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I don't and that wasn't the point of that statement, it was to point that there may not be any new energy types, much less ones that are practical to use for weapons.

I mean proper in the 'Fed = Phaser, KDF = Disruptor' sense. I usually prefer class-appropriate weapons on my ships (not just faction-appropriate), but am not entirely sure which of the two types is supposed to be normal for a Wells.

The NPC Wells all seem to use phasers like modern Starfleet ships while the playable one (and originally the mobs) comes with antiproton.

flip a coin? the Temporal Fragmentation System Set doesn't boost any damage type so it doesn't matter. though from the default stuff the Temporal Defense Initiative Armaments set would be canon more or less.

Temporal Fragmentation System Set? As in all three lockbox timeships? They're not nearly as cheap as the Wells was... it'll probably take even longer to get them than to complete the Temporal Rep system.

I might look into the Rep system.

yep but it wouldn't matter ether way at least as far as weapons go. and in terms of effort the Quantum Phase Catalysts is free from runing sunrise 3 times. and is a pretty good set. just a thought.

Yeah, I have a piece from that set currently. Though I seem to have made a mistake and got a second Phaser Array instead of the console...

Since I'm only at Tier 2 of the rep, I think I'm going for both the free Quantum Phase sets.

Well the Temporal Warfare set from the Lobi Store that came out with the Mobius and Wells has a Chroniton (Antiproton) Dual Beam Array. When you get the Wells, the default equipment is Antiproton and Chroniton Torpedoes (Kinetic, like the Temporal Disruption Device that is part of that Temporal Warfare Set).

The default equipment for the Paradox, the three 31st Century ships, and the Aeon is all AP and Chroniton. The Tempoal Defense Reputation uses Chroniton (AP) as well. You are the Player not an NPC. You know the old saying "If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck". Well enough said. Choice is yours but the evidence seems to point to Chroniton (AP) as laid out above.

The Romulan and Klingon variants use AP weapons as well.

And the statement was posed, 'how would we know about any new energy types' - we've been there, that's how!!!!

Toss-up between Antiproton (default, added advantage gamewise of two Omni arrays) and the newer Chroniton weapons from Temporal Reputation which matches the Lobi store Timeship beam weapon in type, so if you're going for/have those parts it'll not look out of place.

    Use whatever you want.

All my science ships use Polaron weapons regardless of the faction.

what do you think newer guns are. and note we aren't using lasers yet because they are too inefficient. so we are focusing on that instead.

I usually go with default as the 'normal' set - pretty much all the Federation NPCs use phasers, that may be overriding, or Captain Walker was running a retro-theme build. :p
Fate - protects fools, small children, and ships named Enterprise Will Riker
