Which are considered "Must Have" Starship Traits for a tactical Fed cruiser flyer?

Depends on the crusier and the build but "All Hands on Deck" from the Presidio and "Emergency Weapon Cycle" from the Arbiter are at the top of the list. Aside from that it's all very build specific.

I wouldn't consider anything 'must have'. You can do fine without any starship traits.

But if I had to pick two traits that give the most interesting advantages then I would say AHOD and Reciprocity. Never cared that much for Emergency weapon cycle, although I do enjoy flying the Arbiter a lot more than the Presidio or Phantom escort.

Fleet Temporal Battlecruiser. Agony Phaser Beam Arrays MKXIV(ultra rare)x3 plus KT Photon Torpedo MKXIV(ultra rare) fore and aft. Alternating between BO3+HY2 and FAW3+TS2 both with Kemo.

I recommend the traits as the others have said above. All Hands on Deck, Reciprocity, Emergency weapons cycle (Useful for BFAW), Pedal to the metal, Predictive algorithms (if you have the 5th slot unlocked)
Just make sure you have an emergency power to weapons in your build somewhere, make sure you have enough heals, and keep moving via broadsiding the enemy.

There are lockbox traits to make your build even more optimal, but I don't recommend getting lockbox ships only for their traits.

    On my Yorktown I run:

    All Hands on Deck
    Emergency Weapon Cycle
    Pedal to the Medal
    Supremecy
    Attack Pattern Delta Prime

While they are not earned from T6 ships, there are 2 starship traits that i personally just love on any ship:
Improved Temporal Insight (from Delta Recruitment Event) - Immunity to all damage for 4 sec after healing once every 45 seconds
Improved Command Frequency (from Command Specialisation) - Removes "low health" restriction and lowers cooldown by 10 min on Fleet Support

If you love the Improved Command Frequency Trait, If you made a Temporal Recruit during the event and get them to the point they finish 3 of the Spec trees, you'll unlock the Superior Command Frequency trait, which summons 2 ships.

The one that rises above others for *most* builds is Emergency Weapons Cycle. Not only does it reduce power cost of firing weapons, it adds a nice haste bonus when using Emergency Power to X(Weapons gives a damage bonus as a nice little extra).

All Hands on Deck and Reciprocity have lost their shine with the introduction of the Strategist Specialization using Attrition Warfare 2 with Threatening Stance turned on. These were once two of the better traits, but not so much anymore.

Supremacy is nice, but it all depends on if you want to spend the EC or Lobi it will take to get it.

If you get the Strategist Specialization filled out, Unconventional Tactics is very nice. You have to time your Brace for Impact, but it's better than Improved Pedal to the Metal.

A 15% damage bonus clicker is better than a 20% passive bonus?

You have to stay moving for Pedal in the Medal to stay active while the 15% Bonus is active when you click Brace for Impact.

He did say cruiser and I consider "must have" as something for all skill levels. IPttM is better for more experienced players and more maneuverable ships. All it takes is one slip of the throttle to drop your stacks and you have to build them up again.

That's why Anchored is a option too, in terms for Personal Space Traits since all you need to do is stay still and gain +20% All Damage but lose Resistances.

I hope the AoY Temporal Agent event releases on consoles since it has a lot of nice benefits aka Superior Starship Traits from the Primary Specializations and etc.

I use Checkmate too, even though that's mostly for the fact I use it on my Sci Temporal Agent alt. Particle Feedback Loop is pretty good too +150 Armor Pen by usin' Exotic Damagin' Abilities but its from the Eternal.

Seems like it would kind of benefit from being grouped by beam, cannon, torp, and magic builds.

I think the "best" ship traits depend on your play style and your ship.
I like Subsystem Redundancies from the Yamato/Kolasi/Kara Dreadnoughts,
(While Subsystem Redundancies is slotted, firing a Spinal Lance, Javelin or Beam: Overload I, II and III will trigger a shield heal, a shield hardness buff and will restore offline shields.)
and the Guardian Cruisers Desperate Repairs
    (When critically hit:
    • Grant 1 Desperation counter for 120 sec.
    At 3 counters:
    • To self: +5,000 Shield Regeneration.
    • To self: +25,000 Hit Points.
    • Prevents gaining Desperation counters for 60 sec.)
  • rattler2rattler2 Member Posts: 57,971 Community Moderator
The one downside to the Desperate Repairs trait is that you can't choose when to spend the counters. If you recieve a crit and you're at full health, it will still trigger.

Emergency Weapon Cycle -- from T6 Battlecruiser
Improved Feedback Pulse -- from Krenim Science Ship
Improved Pedal to the Metal -- Complete Pilot spec tree

If you have a LtC Science seat, and use Grav Well + Torps:
Checkmate -- from T6 Science Odyssey

    Other things-
If you've managed to keep your subsystem power levels high (and use some science abilities like Grav Well and Feedback pulse):
Auxiliary Power Configuration-Offense -- from Nukara Tier 4 Rep

I use Checkmate and Super Charged Weapons (both are T6 Flagship traits).

Checkmate gives +30% Projectile Weapon Damage and +30% Exotic Damage for 15 seconds each when a control ability is activated.

Super Charged Weapons gives +10% Energy Weapon Damage, +1.5% Critical Chance and +6.6% Critical Severity for 20 seconds when a torpedo is fired. It can stack up to 3 times. The lower the torpedo cooldown the more likely you can stack the bonus within the initial 20 seconds.

Wasn't there a Reputation Torpedo (i think it was from Omega - the Anti-Borg one) that loaded a torpedo into launcher every 6 or 12 seconds up to 6 torpedoes, and then you could fire them one after another - would that trigger the Super Charged Weapons Trait stacks too? :o

Also the New Romulus Reputation Torpedo has short cooldown too...

That would actually be considered a single torpedo salvo. But since the it recharges quickly and it does not have a very long cooldown, getting 3 stacks from Super Charged Weapons is possible.

If you have the resources I would volunteer the “Invincible” trait from Zahl cruiser. It lets you fine-tune go down fighting captains ability.

Another trait I have become to respect is “Supremacy” from the Astika. It has similar results than a buffed plasmonic leech and will grand you better energy level ship wide.
