and yes, this is a money grab.
Like the rest of the franchise. :p

It really has become just shameless. Yet people still plough hours of time and money into it.

And anyone kidding themselves, they dont spend "real money" to get anything is part of the problem.

Truly F2P games are abhorrent, and bring out the worst in people. Just look at some of the reactions on this thread to my simple question.

There are people out there, probably a few on this thread, that actually sit at home, and play this game all day grinding. Then think they are actually playing the system. Its hilarious.

In reality, these people are working Chinese sweat shop rates of pay, doing dull and monotonous work, for a phony digital currency, in order to supply real money paying customers with goods and services.

I still can't decide if Cryptic are to be hated or admired. The best part is, the "free players", actually believe Cryptic are doing them a favour. Its hilarious!

You seem to have an issue with facts, so answer this...

Have any other Tier 5 lockbox ship owners been awarded a free Tier 6 upgrade?

The only instance I know of is with one of the console lockbox ships that people were mistakenly awarded Tier 5 versions, though the lockbox stated tier 6. One of the JH ships I believe.

    Do you know of another?

Your entitlement issue and complete denial with this seems to be part if a bigger problem.

Cryptic is not going to give away a free upgrade and the ONLY reason why we even have T5U is because even they knew that if they didn't do something at that time, it would have been Armageddon in STO.

Keep telling yourself it is the same ship if it makes you feel better.

Love the salm against "free" players. Odds are a "free" player here dumps more cash into the game then a sub player.

You'll have to acquire the T6 versions separately. Join the club. I must have bought and re-bought my Intrepid eighteen times already.

"General Server Stability" means they are bolting the servers to the floor, right? Wouldn't you be upset if Branflakes were to go stumbling into the server room, knock a rack over, and bring the game down for a DAY? SO, they aren't scrwing it up, they are bolting it down.

Just answer the original question with a 'No, that's not the way they do this, these are considered new ships that need to be obtained on their own.' No need to put posters through the ringer for crying out loud.

In a way if you look at it Tier 5 ships are mostly the ships that were work horses during time after TOS movies to TNG. The T6 2409 is kind of like a stepping stone to 2410 when newer ships were required based on STO canon story. So these new lockbox ships are T6 so for me to say a an armitage is a miranda it closely resembles the miranda but in fact its a totally different ship. The only thing I don't like is how with the exchange gone up as high as it is how less accessible these ships are with their low drop rates. I was interested in the kelvin bop but it just feels too outrageous to try to just get one of them.

I know what it has and hasn't got mate, i owned a Galor since when it was still current.

Keep telling yourself its not the same ship if it makes you feel better about the game.

    No matter to me.

If its the same ship, then why do you care? You already have it.

    Oh.

Guess it's not the same ship.

You can feel entitled to a free upgrade, but reality is going to disagree far more vigorously than anyone here will.

    Another huge MONEYGRAB! :)

"moneygrab" is how some players pronounce "staying in business".

No one will make you buy it, so how grabby can it really be?

I have noticed that T5 Lobi ships have taken a bit of a dip in price on the Exchange. I believe people are thinking the other shoe will eventually drop and those remaining Lobi and Lockbox Ships that are Tier 5 will eventually get the same treatment of internal Upgrades to Tier 6 during upcoming releases of the Infinity Lockbox.
