Energy siphon vs Tyken's rift in a drain build

Energy siphon III or Tykens rift III

Currently playing out a drain build in a Jupiter class carrier.
I have a theory that energy siphon works better since it adds additional power to everything while lowering the targets but tykens rift does deal some kinetic damage and fairly often knocks out the opponants shields for a few moments. Both are valid but i am wondering which one would serve me better as the comander level ability in the science seat Boff

I am curious to know the thoughts you have on the topic

Depends if you want single target or AOE drains really?

I always find tykens rift more useful in stfs as you tend to be swarmed with lots of spam mobs who are easy to shut down rather than single targets.
Of course there are boss targets like cubes or gates where energy siphon would really shine but you still gotta cut through all that spam first to get there.

That was my train of thought thanks for giving me confirmation on my thought process.

Personally i have a combination of Energy siphon and Tyken's Rift and it depends on the STF which one takes top spot.
Both are incredibly efficient with investment in Drain Infection.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Why not train them both and just slot whichever you need for the situation you find yourself?

That is the solution it is now as clear as day.
