Any chance for the Franz Joseph TOS ship designs to be added?

Now that we are in the TOS era in the game, and chance of these ships to be added? I am a Big fan of the Franz Joseph TOS ship designs with the Transport Tug, Scout/Destroyer and Dreadnought classes. I would love to play one of these ships and they are canon!

Despite the Saladin and Ptolemy being canon (and possibly the Federation) they're apparently held off by licensing issues.

There's still no excuse for the lack of these ships...

The first two look like fan creations...what source did they come from?

The third though...I totally agree, It's canon, and I'd love to see it in game.

Edit: As for the Joseph ships, Cryptic would have to pay another licensing fee to use them, and they probably won't do that.

I've added some more but the first is a ship from the Remastered TOS, the second is the USS Bonaventure from TAS (a contemporary of the Daedalus), third is the Huron with the Cargo Drones from TOS and TAS, fourth is a concept ship for phase II that appeared in BoBW and the last is another concept ship that appeared in TMP.​​

Most likely not. I think the only argument to make for pursuing the rights to add a particular non-show/movie ship in the game is that it has special significance. Personally, I don't these ships really do.

Cool, yes, and if presented the question "have these ships in the game, no strings attached?" I'd gladly say yes. But speaking as someone who's just in the middle, the TOS designs cryptic made are just as special as the ones here (besides the TAS freighter, I always liked that flushing out of the TOS FED). Person A made those, person B made these. What would be the point in going out of our way to get more when Cryptic could just keep going with their new designs? (if more ships were really needed that badly)

As for the pics posted by Artan42, other than the freighter, they are the dumbest designs ever. And yes I know the Bonadventure is from TAS (along with the freighter - which was then put in the TOS remaster) and that the bottom design is an original (failed) concept for the Phase 2/TMP era. But, fugly is fugly. Although, with that last one, the idiots who are making Star Trek: Discovery were dumb enough to use it, so we might see it in-game.

The first looks like the Daedalus except for the different neck, it has a more compact and less vulnerable neck, so not ridiculous. The Bonaventure is painfully awful I agree, but the Huron is a cargo ship, just like the cargo drones, it's meant to look like a brick with nacelles. As for the two Phase II concept ships, I like the former and am generally unsure about the latter. It's mainly the saucer that are bad, they're too small for the size of the hull.

Also, what's nice (in retrospect) about the two canon TOS era Phase II concepts are the nacelles. They are similar to to the Kelvin era nacelles (Kelvin, Newton, Mayflower etc.) and I think I prefer them to the nacelles on the Discovery which would look more at home on the Ambassador.​​

Anyone think the Huron class or some new 60's-ish generic ship should replace that Cardassian freighter in the TOS faction tutorial?

I guess they are done with TOS ships for now, we just had a bunch, mostly lower level stuff with skin options.

As far as I know the Star Fleet manual is no longer considered canon. So that said It's doubtful they would be in the game. Plus the rights are or were held between Ballentine, Paramount/CBS and Franz Joesphs daughter Karen TRIBBLE so there is that issue to deal with over any use in anything. They are stll available on Amazon and IMHO some of the best references for Trek. I had a first edition (My ex destroyed it along with most of my Sci-Fi collection and other property when I served her cheating behind with divorce papers) that had patterns to make uniforms and a circuit diagram three view and dimensions to make a channel 14 crystal Tx/RX communicator.

It took a lot of work to get the Vesta in game. It would take just as much work to get any of Josef's work in game, probably per ship with our luck.

I'm not sure. I Googled Bonaventure class and picked the only image not a cartoon or line drawing. If you search on Deviantart you may find one as well. There's a guy who's name I cannot remeber that makes models of TOS and TAS ships.

I don't like any of those designs, personally, but I don't have a problem with them being added to the game if others want them.

That said, I don't see how the Bonaventure can be considered canon given what was established by First Contact and Enterprise.
