I'm also a big fan of the TMP era due to having played TONS of SFC 1. AoY is meant to be TOS themed though. Maybe we'll see more TMP content in the future.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

Personally, I rather see the conclusion of those movies like who modified the Voyager probe in TMP, who launched the whale probe in The Voyage Home, and when will we see the Children of Khan. I assume that all of Khan's followers was killed in The Wrath of Khan and there is not another group of 20th Century Augments cryogenically frozen on some undiscovered starship. So we have to rely on some radical Augment group inspired by Khan.

i agree, being as they are unlikely to expand on 23c content solely for AoY characters and any future content will be played by all factions and either be based in the 25c or at least start in the 25c if involving time travel it would be ideal to expand on there storys instead of trying to mimic them.

I particularly like the idea of revisiting the khan story not necessarily with khan offspring as if you go by the movie he apparently had none but we know from the ds9 basir story line that genetic engineering continued despite being illegal so it would not be beyond the realms of possibility to have other khan like characters in some storys.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Oh the Living Machine race mentioned in STTMP? Honestly If they did go that way it would smack of The Matrix with the living machines. Maybe if they had done something pre Matrix Trilogy in the films it would fly but I think a lot of folks would cry Matrix rip off. The Whale Probe creators and why they sent it was covered in some what I beleive are still canon novels. It was also related to the Doomsday Machine builders if IIRCC. Instead of those I wish they would do a mission of first contact with the builders of Tan Ru the probe that collided with and fused with Nomad.

    A. The living machines from TMP are the Borg, which is why the Borg command ships in-game looks like V'ger.

    B. None of the novels are canon. The only canon things besides the TV shows and movies are the "Countdown" comic book, which serves as the offical prequel to star trek 2009, and the Star Trek: Khan comic book, which serves as the explanation to how Khan was found and made white in the JJ movies.

I never went with V'ger being of the Borg. That was just an in joke Gene made when making "Q-Who?" To me, the living machines are pure machines, no carbon lifeform material at all.

I was speaking of STO's lore, not Star Trek lore in general.

D Stahl was a big fan of the V'ger/Borg connection, which is why Borg command ships in-game look like mini V'gers.

The Unimatrix ships look like assimilated versions of V'Ger so it is possible that the Borg assimilated a few of the ships the machine race that modified V'Ger. There is absolutely no confirmation about who modified V'Ger. Getting V'Ger into STO was Dan Stahl's pet project and it looks like he caved with making the Unimatrix ships instead of making an interesting V'Ger story. Star Trek: Legacy actually made V'Ger create the Borg by going back in time so it is better for STO to create their own story for V'Ger instead of having it involved with the Borg.

    Cybertron eh ? @rattler2
    I like it.

Back to topic, I would like to see something like @starkaos has described.

The time period/era doesn't even matter to me. Take the most memorable episodes/events from each series/films, and make side stories that shed more light on the whole ordeal.
Sort of like in the SW EU, where they had short stories that revolved around bigger events shown in the films, like Tales from the Bounty Hunters, or Tales from Jabba's Palace.

V'ger was introduced in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. That movie premiered in 1979. The Matrix premiered in 1999. How can Star Trek's living machines stink of The Matrix when V'ger came out 20 years prior?

Interesting discussion, though far too much emphasis on V'ger itself. The most obvious 'loose end' in that storyline is the question of what happened to Decker and the Ilia-duplicate following their merge and "evolution".

TheyWERE going to make a story of that in Voyager....but Persis died shortly prior.

I wuld lik to sie the OP use pruper spulling.

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

In mission Facility 4028, there is a prision cell in which is a Principe Khan alongisde with Taris.
So i guess he is part of that planned Augument arc, tho forget one. Like how Taris escaped if she was roten in cell :P tho i guess that Kar'ukan gived her a ship to escape. Also someone made a foundry mission about Principe Khan so its one side of story :) if Cryptic never conclude that arc :/
