T6 carrier design

Remember when they did the tournament for the final design where they got the players involved?

We should totally do that again for the Klingon and Romulan versions which would be great to have in the game.

It would make sense for the Romulans to have a large scale transport ship for their colony support structure and for the Klingons to have a mobile command fortress in space.

HA! Non feds get no love. I don't see that changing. Would it be nice? Sure. Will it happen? not in a million years.

it been asked for... it be shocking if kdf get a t6 version of ether of the two we have and roms are even less likely... actually it be surpising if even the feds get another. while cryptic does seem to like slapping a hanger bay on things full carriers are rather rare.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

Perfect project for them is what this is!

Ugh to many carriers as it is. It wouldn't be so bad if they were designed to BE carriers with only defensive weapons so the users would have to fight them like carriers. And better "pets" just for those ships. Like a heavy torpedo shuttle for attacking capitol ships like they had in Wing Commander.

A large scale transport ship does not equate a Carrier, and a mobile command fortress could also be something like the Bortasque.

I had expected they'd release a T6 Vo'Quv together witht the Jupiter, but they did not, so I have no idea when, if ever, they'll release one. I strongly doubt it will be soon, or with a design contest.

That would be epic. 4 or 6 hangers, so you can have 1 squad of shield strippers, 1 or 2 of Frigates, Couple of Actual Fighter squadrons....... Phaser/disruptor point defense, Torpedo point defense. HUGE hull, 5 Eng consoles, 5 Sci consoles, NO weapons slots. Give it a built in weapon like Lance/Javellan. Would be nice. Have to task fighters to protect frigates and control craft, while tasking frigates to attack targets. Would be fun.

The precedent for a Ferasan Carrier has been set when the playable race was introduced along with the Cat Carrier. While the Caitian Carrier appears to be an Eng/Sci hybrid, the Ferasan one could be an Eng/Tac hybrid with somewhat faster turn rate and more aggressive fighter support abilities. My favorite would be that when Ramming Speed ability is used, all deployed fighters ram as well. Useless but funny!

I wasn't fond of any of the Jupiter designs, and the T'Laru turned out almost-all round excellent (minus the missing bridge protruding out front, and gamble price tag).

I approve of the Voquv styling, so if it received a straight out T6 treatment and new decent kitbash options, that'd be better than dedicating precious developer time to something non-Fed (blasphemy, holy water, and +) and just finish the T6 Sci lineup for both, and a C-store carrier for both.

    +Like +Agree

The Vo'Quv looks very Klingon and would be great to have in a T6 version.

    Then a science ship please!

Some people don't get that yes I can fly my Breen carrier or Krenim science ship, but no I don't want to :(

I would love to see a carrier done for the Ferasan, but honestly I could more see it that they open up the Atrox to be bought by all sides. Then make a new ship that fits the Ferasan style, maybe something like a destroyer type ship would be good to see, but than also have this open to be bought by both factions too. Than make each have skins/parts that are made for each skin based on the race using it, but than these skins/parts have variations that could be used on the other ship to give each a feeling of how they might look if made by the other race, which could boost sales /interest in the ship via put it in both camps to be bought.

I would rather see a in-game content adaption of the Reddit/forum design your ship event. Like that each faction gets a set of missions you can get from a shipyard/development area, which after clearing these missions allows you to put in votes for how the ship is developed. These could be done in tiers each week being about different aspects of the ship, like weapon loadout, ship-class/type, boff-layout, special-abilities/traits, and so forth.

I personally hope if we see the trend continue of getting carriers, that they revamp them a bit to give them a better feel and viability. Things like improving the hanger/separation pet Ai, the UI like into something more like the ground Boff Ui, maybe even make some consoles that can buff the hanger-pet at the cost of your main-ship. I could see some of the consoles we have that are not as often used being made into consoles that apply a percentage of the bonuses gained from their corresponding console type to your pets.

There was not really a source of inspiration involved. They only offered like 3-4 limited choices that wee BORING. There was no tournament so to speak just a big senseless poll and IMHO the designs were horrible and have not wasted a single cent on any of those crappy ships.

I have the Fleet T5U Kar'Fi. Best carrier in the game IMO as it's not reliant on native consoles and tbh I couldn't care about a T6 version for only an extra power. When are people going to realise that T6's are BARELY any better than a T5U. I'm unbelievably thankfully that we were given the chance to upgrade our T5's!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Oh I don't fully agree with that at all. The T-6 Excelsior is far better then the T-5U version. I have both and have geared them with the same base consoles a nd the T-6 would chop the T-5u into rubble. Sure a lot of T-5U's if geared and played correctly are damn fine ships and are good righ tinto end game no problems but some T-6's are just unstoppable monsters compared to them. An example is the Temporal Cruisers introduced with AOY with the Tmeporal bridge slots yeah to qoute The movie Rocky "He's a wrecking mcahine.".
