Going so fast you turn into a waterlizard and abduct the captain

Just one example picked at random for those who remember that episode of Yoyager.
Sure that example is out there but why are we not put against the strange circumstances more often like in the TV shows?

We get involved in galactic affairs and rarely local issues most of which are solved with phasers or a high enough diplomacy rank but rarely/never do we Encounter and study anomilies, preforming contraband checks/policing on fright routes, get boreded by a strange alien who evades the ships sensors or work to stop an asteroid or celecestial hazard from destroying a colony.

Am i the only one who wants to deal with the weirder things of starfleet life?

No you aren't but that's not what the devs are going with, as evident by the last 6 years. I'd love an episode without the need to end all life on a map but that's not gonna happen.

That is apparently the entire point of the Duty Officer system, especially the diplomatic section, and the Admiralty system given how often 'divert rogue asteroid / comet' turns up.

Threshold was literally the worst episode of star trek, why couldn't you use one of the remotely good "Weird" episodes as an example?

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

We don't have "solve the weird problem" -missions, because every time there is any kind of puzzle in the game it's always so easy it bores people to tears, while at the same time generating an endless stream of whiney complaints about being too hard.
