Also not needed, directX11 is perfectly capable of the new lighting system (Directx9 too, btw, the lightprobes and other techs where are included in the API), they are capable of instancing, paralax and tesellation also, but not implemented. The only thing i'm wondering is if they are using Directx texture compression, that could work wonders on the GUI, recovering some framerates..

No to re-writing the engine to use DX12.
