PS4, how to transfer tech upgrades from inventory into R&D inventory?

my tech upgrades aren't showing in the inventory, I can only see them on the R&D inventory, I don't have to move them.

Go to a Bank Terminal. Put the item from the inventory into the bank. Go to the R&D inventory, and put the item from the bank into the R&D inventory.

I think there is no direct way to move something from the inventory to the R&D inventory. (By default things should fall into the right inventory.)
