So I've been thinking about all the stuff STO could use for possible future game arcs/stories, and made a list
-Mirror Universe/Pah-Wraiths:
Mirror Leeta has been greatly built up to be the next big bad, and there is the Mirror Universe Emperor, who supposedly has god-like power, to contend with. Pah-Wraiths will likely be involved due to Mirror Leeta's connection to them.
-Sphere Builders:
Out of all the Temporal Liberation Front forces, the Sphere builders are the ones we got to interact with the least, and who got the least amount of development. Given the nature of the TCW, we might see them again at some point down the line.
-Augments:
Its well known that Cryptic once had a Children of Khan based featured series + STF planned, but that was put on hold. Given the recent uptick in augment references, could we be seeing them attempting to resurrect that in some way soon?
-Cardassian Reformation:
Ever since the end of The Dominion war, the Cardassian government has been trying to reform their society into a more peaceful one. A story arc about that, with a possible Cardassian mini-faction, could be cool.
-Ferengi:
Also a fairly important race in ST canon, the Feregi, much like the Cardassians, have been undergoing major social reforms. Would be cool to have a mission or two set on Ferenginar.
-Hur'q/Fek'ihri/Finding the Sword of Kahless(again):
A major unresolved plot thread from the Klingon story arcs. Who ARE the Fek'Ihri? what is their real connection to the Hur'q? If they are servants of the Hur'q, does that mean the Hur'q aren't dead?
-T'Ket:
The last of the Iconians still out there and pissed at us. While not a major threat, she still commands a sizeable force, and is out there plotting.
-STO's version of the Typhon Pact:
Not something that's been set up in-game at all. But it would be interesting to see various powers team up to try to counter the Alpha Auadrant Alliance in a situation similar to the Typhon Pact from the novels.
-Tholian answers:
The Tholians have been an on again off again villain since the Nukara content came out, but we have never really learned their true motives behind what they do. Would be interesting to find out what their goal is.
-The Dominion/Gamma Quadrant:
An obvious plot thread. The Dominion is the largest force from Star Trek lore(besides maybe the Borg), and their home territory of the Gamma Quadrant is little explored.
-Gorn rebellion/freedom movement:
Something I've seen mentioned on the forums a lot. Could the Gorn try to break away form the Klingons now that the Undine infiltration has ended?
-Sela:
Sela has a long and expansive story arc in the game already, but it has been left on something of a cliffhanger since the end of the Iconian War, and her big revelation that everything was her fault. Would be cool to see how she reacts to that.
-Star Trek: Discovery stuff:
With the new TV show coming out soon, Cryptic has a whole new untapped source of content at their fingertips. Who knows where that could go?
-The Nexus energy ribbon:
A major plot point of a Star Trek movie, the Nexus energy ribbon, and all of its time mangling powers, is due to pass through local space in the current STO year of 2410.
-The Borg:
A story arc revealing what connection the Borg have to V'ger, given that Borg Command Ships are vastly scaled down versions of V'ger.
Anyone else got any ideas? Anything to add to these ideas?
-T'Ket:
The last of the Iconians still out there and pissed at us. While not a major threat, she still commands a sizeable force, and is out there plotting.
-Sela:
Sela has a long and expansive story arc in the game already, but it has been left on something of a cliffhanger since the end of the Iconian War, and her big revelation that everything was her fault. Would be cool to see how she reacts to that.

It's been said that the Gateway to Gre'thor Queue is caused by T'ket and according to an anonymous source (who went missing sometime ago) there was suppose to be a mission with Sela to look for her mother but it was pulled in favor of the current Future Proof arc.
I think the developers already conformed that once they get info on TRIBBLE/ST:DSC they'll put it in game.
-Mirror Universe:
Mirror Leeta has been greatly built up to be the next big bad, and there is the Mirror Universe Emperor, who supposedly has god-like power, to contend with.
-Augments:
Its well known that Cryptic once had a Children of Khan based featured series + STF planned, but that was put on hold. Given the recent uptick in augment references, could we be seeing them attempting to resurrect that in some way soon?

If using the Temporal Reputation as any indication, these might come in as the next Season or Expansion becasue all of these were part of DS9. Personally, STO's verse of the Typhoon pact might be the way they do it.
Whatever they add next, I hope it doesn't involve the Mirror Universe or time travel.
Mirror Morons are just that, and, further, it almost seems as if our actions (or those of anyone else in our universe) don't matter at all. Cause even if you manage to save your timeline or universe, there's always a thousand others where you have failed.
What I would like to see is something different than yet another major conflict. We were supposed to be explorers again, yet we are fighting another major war against multiple species at the same time even. Only in a few exceptional cases did we not end up shooting a newly discovered or encountered species.
I get that this is a game and that there needs to be some action in it, but at least keep it on a smaller scale if there has to be conflict. Something like a fight for a single planet or small system, like we had in the episode Takedown at Vaadwaur Prime.
Since Cryptic has a hard on for Mass Effect at times....Odyssey bridge looks like the Normandy ... Herald ships look like reapers......Collector armor in the Undine Rep lol
As for the Dominion: is there actually any proof that they are the single greatest power (besides the Borg maybe) in (our version of) the Star Trek universe?
Most people just seem to assume this, but I think that all we ever saw was a huge expedition fleet in the Alpha Quadrant which were part of an invasion. We never saw much of their territory. Most claims that they are as important as they seem are made by those who are part of the Dominion itself like Weyoun.
Given that just two or three species seem to be the most important ones in the entirety of the Dominion, it would seem strange to assume that they indeed control a significant part of the Gamma Quadrant. I think it's more likely that they control just a handful of systems, maybe a couple of dozen of them which would all contain heavy industrial capacities and shipbuilding facilities.
Cause why would you bother with controlling a significant part of a quadrant and dominate its inhabitants? It seems illogical to waste so much resources on controlling large sectors of space if your prime concern is ensuring the safety of the Founders. Having a handful of well protected systems that have ships numbering in the thousands or tens of thousands seem a more efficient approach in such a case.
They probably don't have the ability to use ST: Discovery yet since it hasn't been released yet. Probably once it starts airing they might be able to use it.
Mirror Leeta unites several races against the Federation, then the Terran Empire loyal to the Emperor show up and KABLAMO Leeta. Then for no reason what so ever the nexus comes along and screws with everyone, then the whale probes returns.
-Tholian answers:
The Tholians have been an on again off again villain since the Nukara content came out, but we have never really learned their true motives behind what they do. Would be interesting to find out what their goal is.
This is one thing I don't think is a good idea. The Tholians are at their best as inscrutably mysterious sort-of-hostile pseudo-villains. It's interesting to guess at their motivations, but I think any explanation would be ultimately a disappointment. It would risk turning them into yet another lot of misguided extremists to be educated to the Federation way or moustache-twirling evil to be crushed.

Whatever is it, I hope the bad guys are at least competent this time. I'm rather sick of villains running around screaming "FEAR THE TERRAN EMPIRE" while getting utterly owned by the player's lone ship.
Say ... whatever happened to Eldex? Last we heard he'd stopped talking to the Alliance after Gaul's defeat in "Takedown", and it appears at least some of the Vaadwaur were supporting the Iconians ("Time in a Bottle").
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
both the Solanae and Devidians still exist and we didn't really hurt them beyond stopping a single plan. though the former are iconian servitors, so they may not be threat since most iconians are not interested in destroying everyone anymore.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

We're going to Andromeda lol
Andromeda was already referenced in the Sphere of Influence mission years ago. Although, I suspect it will be after going to the Gamma Quadrant. So we already have a way of instantly going there. We just need a reason.
A theory i have about the Hur'q is that they were servitor's assigned to take the early Klingons resources to aid in repairs to one of the Iconian sphere's that were damaged in some way, either some attack against them, or just an asteroid/comet impact.

The Solanae are trapped in their subspace realm. They can't interact with our plane directly.
Devidians are the same, with the comet destroyed, their ability to cross over into normal space vanished.
no reason something else can't happen to give them the ability to invade again. it may or may not be interesting but they could still be factor.
oh and forgot we also have pah wraiths and mirrior pah wraiths to worry about. with us heading to ds9/gamma/mirrior universe. I wouldn't be surpised if they showed up.

Creating the Gamma Quadrant would be a welcome addition to the game and would be a step in the direction of “fleshing out” the STO Universe. Existing home worlds, like Feringinar, that are modified to be places that characters can visit would also be good addition to the STO universe. Major races home worlds should be added over time. This of course would take a tremendous amount of developer resources and would have to be weighed by them from the perspective of prioritization and income potential.

Actually, we don't have a way of getting there instantly.
As we learn in the "Uneasy Allies" mission, the gates to Andromeda led to the Iconian Dyson sphere, which then teleported itself to Iconia at the end of the mission. Meaning there are no more gateways leading there.
Actually, if you go to Iconia in sector space you'll notice the sphere is no longer there. I don't know exactly when it went away but given their instant movement capability it could be pretty much anywhere.
Who knows, maybe T'ket stole it. Maybe the next plotline will have the Iconians go all "dude, where's my car dyson sphere" and ask the invincible Chosen One to find it.

From what I recall, that's actually a bug along the same lines of the New Romulus system name not entirely overwriting the old name it had in sector space, thus causing both of them to appear at the same time overlapping each other.
People were saying the Iconian Dyson Sphere disappeared after leaving the area and coming back since the mission came out, with repaying it usually getting it to appear again
It didn't appear for my AoY when I did the mission. That's when I noticed it was gone in the first place.
There's the whole plot of Star Trek: Beyond as well. Spoilers to follow:
The whole plot involving Krall dates back to the ENT era, predating the Kelvin Timeline (KT) divergence from the Prime Timeline (PT). It was discussed elsewhere that it's quite possible that the site of Starbase Yorktown in Beyond in the KT is unexplored space in the PT, where the KT's Starfleet zigged during their space surveys while the PT's Starfleet zagged. So it's possible that the Necro Cloud nebula and the planet Altamid in the middle of it where Krall, his crew, and the crashed USS Franklin are are still undiscovered by the 25th Century in STO. In fact, someone had the interesting idea of bringing in the Son'a from Star Trek: Insurrection - those who didn't make up with the Ba'ku - who would try to seize Krall's alien tech method for extending his lifespan for themselves, as they tried to do with the Ba'ku.
I determined that the Son'a battle cruisers' isolytic subspace weapons, which are attracted to warp cores, would wreak havoc with Krall's swarm ships since each individual craft has a warp core and would likely get pulled into every subspace tear the Son'a create, since the Enterprise-E had to eject their warp core. Also, that your character with their long recent history of wars fought against various enemies would appeal more to Krall than the KT's Kirk did. Which would create the interesting scenario of Krall siding with you against the Son'a, with Krall and his crew repairing and using the Franklin to assist.
