PS4 Build and advice

kronicfirekronicfire Member Posts: 6 Arc User
Yesterday I hit level 60 on Ps4, this is my first time playing STO, and I noticed there seems to not be much information online about the game. So here is my build from what I can piece together from the little bit I found online. I have a T 6 Faeht Intel Warbird, I'm a DPS build. I use 7 antiproton beam arrays. 1 of them is CrtDx2 CrtH, and the others are ACC CrtD Crth. I was trying to farm more of the CrtDx2 ones from the mission but it started dropping ones with random attributes. I have 2 engineering consoles, the first is a EPS flow regulator, and the next is a Polaric Modulator. I have 3 science consoles, the first 2 are shield refrequencers with shield regen rate on them, the third is a field generator for max shield increase. I have 5 tactical consoles, they are all antiproton mag regulators. My singularity core has EPS on it too, and something called wave, which I don't think is any good for me. Then for the shield, deflector, and impulse engines I run the Sol set. My space skills I maxed out science to get the 3 end skills for the crit buff, the only skills I didn't chose for science was the exotic damage. I then chose tactical skills Advanced energy weapon training, Advance weapon amplification, Weapon specialization, Advanced hull penetrations, then Advanced tactical readiness. For Engineering skills I chose Improved EPS flow, Weapon subsystem performance, and Improved engineering readiness(only 2 points). My space traits are Accurate, Last ditch, Beam Training, Innocuous, Operative, Particle defense, Point blank shot, Shield tech, Shield freq, and Warp theorist.

So my question is really how can I improve on doing more DPS, you must also keep in mind Ps4 is currently missing some of the stuff PC has right now. I know getting the CrtDx2 weapons would be good to get, not sure if you can find CrtDx3 or not. Besides that I'm not sure what to do or get so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

I believe you should have access to the New Romulan Reputation System on the consoles. If so, then there are some things you can get from that reputation to make improvements. You will need to get New Romulan Marks to advance through the reputation system. You can get these marks from the Azure Nebula Rescue PVE queue mission, or you can beam down to the Adventure Zone on New Romulus and do various missions that rewards Romulan Marks and raw dilithium.

After unlocking Tier 1 you are given the opportunity to purchase the Zero-Point Energy Conduit universal console (which can be placed in any console slot). It gives you +1.8 to all power systems, it also increases your critical chance by +1.8%.

When you reach Tier 2 of the Romulan Reputation System, the Precision space trait will be available for you to select. It improves your critical chance by 4%.

At Tier 3 you will be given the opportunity to purchase the Romulan (not the Reman) Advanced Prototype Impulse Engine which increases you Weapon Amplification skill by 26.2 (which increases critical severity). It would be nice if there was a singularity warp core, but when this was released only 3-piece sets existed and warp cores / singularity cores were not included.

From the Task Force Omega (Borg) Reputation System you can get the Assimilated Module which increases critical chance by 0.92%, critical severity by 9.2%, and weapon power by +5. It is a Tier 1 project.

Unlike the Romulan Reputation System, the Omega Reputation and all other reputations (with the exception of Nukara) requires Elite Marks for reputation projects. The elite mark for Omega are the Borg Neuro Processors (BNP) which can be obtained from the Advanced versions of the Special Task Force (STF) missions in the following link. "STF" originally referred to the reputation missions against the Borg, but now "STF" is simply a generic term used to refer to any of the reputation missions. There is also a reputation project that converst 100 Omega Marks into 1 BNP.

People also purchase the Kinetic Cutting Beam (Tier 2), it fires in all direction and it causes kinetic (not energy damage). When it hits shields, it does negligible damage. However, if it hits anything with no shields or when shields are down, then it can do a lot of damage. But people gets this for the 2-piece set bonus which give a 2.5% chance of the following when energy weapons hit.

    +10 Current Weapon Power
+500 Current Weapon Power Resistance Rating for 3 sec
+500 Maximum Weapon Power Resistance Rating for 3 sec

Not sure what the power resistance is, but I guess it has to do with weapon energy drain when firing weapons.

Thank you very much for the help! I'll have to look into the Rom stuff for now. I don't think that we have the Borg reputation yet. The ones that I see are Rom, Undine, Delta, and Dyson. The Borg stuff sounds pretty awesome! I cant wait until it's released, I have always liked the Borg! lol

The T6 Faeht is a great ship, I have a Reman tactical captain that has been flying it since December 2014 until last month when I finally decided to switch over to the T6 Morrigu Battlecruiser.

The T6 Faeht is pretty maneuverable so if you can switch over to antiproton dual beam banks (90 degree firing arc), then that can give you a decent bump in DPS. However, I don't know if those weapons are available on the PS4 / XB1 so you might have to wait until the Crafting System is released for the console. If you do not have very rare antiproton mag Mk XII consoles, then that is something you should consider doing.

Since the Delta Rep is available to you, then I would consider getting the Bio-Neural Gel Pack. Since you are flying a ship using a singularity core, you have a disadvantage because you trade off 40 points of power for singularity abilities which have situational uses at best. I don't even bother using those abilities. The Gel Pack gives you +2 power in each subsystem. On top of that your Bridge Offer (Boff) ability cooldowns are reduced by 7%; not much but it helps. Unfortunately, there is nothing else in the Delta Rep that I would consider worth getting based on your current build.

From the Undine Reputation System, the only thing really stands out as being beneficial to you is the Counter-Command Hyper Injection Singularity Warp Core. The reason why I stated I do not use singularity abilities is because the charge level can affect certain bonuses that you get. This singularity warp core gives you +5 to +15 engine power; great since you have limited power. The singularity warp core also gives you a +20% critical severity. It states, " While Singularity Charge is active, you gain 20% Crit Severity)". I assume as long as your singularity charge is at least level 1 rather than max level you will get the bonus. Using a singularity ability drains your charge to zero.

    http://sto.gamepedia.com/Fluidic_Counter_Assault

However, if you have 2 pieces of the the Undine (Counter Command) space set, then you can get a constant +12% antiproton damage bonus. The Counter Command Deflector gives you +8.8 Energy Weapon Skill and +8.8 Shield Capacity, but Hull Capacity drops from +35 down to +17.5 when compared to the Solanae Deflector. An alternative would be swapping the Solanae Resilient Shield for the Counter Command Covariant Shield. You get higher shield capacity, but amount of damage which bleeds through the shield and hits your hull increases from 5% to 10%. Shield regeneration rate is a little lower with the Covariant Shield.

Unfortunately, the Dyson Rep doesn't not really offer much. It's more gimmicky than anything else. The only thing worth getting is the Gravimetric Photon Torpedo Launcher, but since you do not use torpedoes, then there is no point to get it, and there are better torpedoes out there now.
