TOS costume for Kelvin Constitution?

Asking because I;ve not found documentation - if I ever get the Kelvin lockbox Constitution class, will I be able to apply a TOS Constitution costume?

I ask because while I was in /zone lamenting not getting the T6 Temporal Cruiser during the R&D promotion, someone said the Kelvin cruiser could use the TOS cruiser appearance. Now, I haven't got the Kelvin either - but I do (who doesn't) have a few billion lockboxes. I had opened some of them on KDF characters because the Kelvin Bird of Prey looks cool, but I might, when springing for keys on payday going forward, concentrate on Fed for lockbox openings.

If you're asking if it's possible to make the body of a Kelvin Connie look like the TOS version, I would have to say no. The parts are designed differently and the two ships are also different sizes. About the only thing you can really do on the Kelvin version is change the hull material color and pattern.

Yea you can use mat 0 on it to give it the bronzed deflector, and change the collectors on the nacelles to the same instead of blue but thats as far as it goes really. It still looks really cool.

Ah. I sort of figured the person in chat was uninformed.

    Thanks.

There was a short time on Tribble where you could actually partially put the KT parts on the TOS version, but it was just a back side thing the devs had used to fit the KT ship onto the animation framework of the TOS, not an actual skin. It was never intended to go to the test server, and they pulled it pretty fast to prevent exactly the confusion we are seeing here - apparently not fast enough.

Using the ToS skin on the JJ-Prise works better than I would've thought. I figured that I'd have wound up using the default skin (I'm a long-time fan of the refit's surfacing), but when I tried the type-0 skin on it, it looked like someone handed Jefferies a massive budget and he went to town. The alt-universe Connie's lines combined with the old-school paintjob really evokes that 60s zeitgeist.

You're also way better off selling those keys on the Exchange for energy credits rather than blowing them all on lockboxes.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

STO isn't canon, and neither are any of the books.
