Universal marks across the board would lead to even deader queues. there's a reason ISA and CCA are the most active/played maps. They are fast and easy. Where as something like Grethor where the middle part is x minutes regardless of team takes as long as it takes.
Knowing I could get iconian marks from ISA/CCA instead of Grethor I know which maps I'd be playing for them
For example completing Procyon V only gives you the "choice" of Temporal Marks.
Seeing most STFs that are not recent are ghost towns, more Mark choices would be better.
Disagree. The end result of this would be everyone playing ISA/the Borg STFs and nothing else.
And if that's what people want..?
Then there would be no point in even having any other queues.

I think STFs like Borg Disconnected show the way to go. You have a mission that deals with three factions and you are able to obtain marks pertinent to each of them. That brings players in who may be theoretically working on different reputations at any one point in time.
It's easy to think of material that might crossover Temporal/Terran marks and probably Delta/Iconian too, so I think it would make sense to produce a couple of STFs that work in this manner.
This would ultimately lead to players determining biggest gain for the shortest amount of time in STFs and lead to two space and maybe two ground mission that everyone queues for and alternates timers on. The fact that certain missions only give certain rep is the only thing driving the handful of players to them anyway and the current event is proof of that. That said, it's a poor idea.
I don't know why anyone does ANY queues, I got my AOY char to max on all reps and loaded up on gear without ever setting foot in one.
I don't know why anyone drives a car across the state. I got there by walking and never once set foot in a car.
Congrats....people tend to do things more efficiently, but if that way works for you and you have the time and patience. /clap
Actually, that doesn't take any time or patience. The Temporal Recruit rewards and the Delta Recruit account rewards are already sufficient to finish all reps as soon as they unlock at level 50.

The quote I responded to did not make a distinction in type of captain. To quote again, "I don't know why anyone does ANY queues". This is not correct, even if it does work that way for AoY captains.

Says AOY to me.
May want to work on comprehension skills there, buddy. Reading words and properly understanding them in context are not the same thing.
While true that they did mention their AOY captain, they specifically stated that they "don't know why anyone does ANY queues". They did not say they don't know why AOY captains do any queues and it was not implied in the thread up to that point.

Pointless nitpicking.
If you have to overanalyze someone's words just to complain about it, why bother?
Ill clear it up, yea I did get the boost on that char but my point still stands Why T. F. does anyone put themselfs thru all the hassle of the stupid queues for marks and TRIBBLE when all of it can be gotten elsewhere.
Sometimes, the worst thing you can do is give people what they "want."
Many of the same people calling for all marks to be available in the shortest, easiest queues are the same ones who would be whining in the forums about what a monotonous grind their STO experience had become.
"Fun" is a subjective concept, but I would submit that you'll have very little of it if you insist on viewing gameplay as a chore, to be evaluated only on the relationship of time vs. reward.
My main point was the complaint that the term "choice of marks" doesn't tell me what marks the stf rewards.
So instead of "choice of marks" the stf should list the types of marks it rewards when your mouse over it.
My second point was that STFs that are currently ghost towns could be livened up if they offered more marks choices.
You will always have min/maxers they have just been min/maxing the current state of the game.
It would be nice to have an indication of what your choice of marks is. It would also be nice to be able to filter the list for pve content that rewards what you are after.
I last saw active queues when we had the hourly special thing going on(I really miss that) and before the daily bonus box. The daily bonus box makes me play 1 queue a night if I need a mark type. And, that is usually CCA because I need FMs and it is quick. I used to stay on and grind out the marks I needed. I actually enjoyed doing that. After the daily bonus box showed up I found that this was much less fun. The rewards of all queues are much too low without the box to even bother. The XP rewards of queues are also too low to bother. I make plenty of dil outside of queues. So where is my motivation to bother with queues? Some are fun and I'll do those from time to time but most I stay away from entirely. There are even some I have never tried.
Fixing pve population, imo, would require actually balancing the mark (and probably dil) rewards to a standard that makes sense.
My main point was the complaint that the term "choice of marks" doesn't tell me what marks the stf rewards.
There's a drop down menu that lets you select the type(s) of rewards you might be seeking. Clears out a lot of clutter if you need marks, or doodads, to complete a particular project.
...but my point still stands Why T. F. does anyone put themselfs thru all the hassle of the stupid queues for marks and **** when all of it can be gotten elsewhere.
The fact you can swap marks for the doodads helps, but if you want the marks, then you will be joining a queue at some point.
I suggest simply adding a weekly rotating queue bonus. Pick one ground and one space queue, doing that queue grants you a choice of marks with a +30 bonus and, once a day, an elite mark of your choice (2 at advanced, 3 at elite).
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

Personally i would prefer it if these elite marks were removed completely.
If that proves to be a bridge too far it'd be nice if they did not take up inventory space.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

And people would still run ISA/CCA instead, because in the time it takes to run your average timed queue and earn that bonus, they can get in at least 5-10 runs of the "fast queues," so +30 marks and 1-3 elite items is laughably low.
Seriously, even the big events like Mirror and Breach lose miserably to the fast queues in dil/mark output.
Gotta give something unique to get players to play anything else.

I'd settle for a more convenient way to get rid of them. You can only turn them in for dil 3 at a time, which is too little to eat through huge stockpiles and too much for the poor non-queueing alts who only get the occasional random 1 from the free item boxes and can't do anything about them. Marks trade at least has choice of different sized projects for how much you need.
Why don't they just put the trades in the rep store instead of a project, could just use the slider to turn in as much as needed no hassle?
nah we need one stf which will grant 2,5k fleet marks per round, it can be 3 hours long, but i really think it would be nice to get so much fleet marks from one round, as for now i can't get that amount per day even by trying get it, max i succed to get is 1,7k but before revamp of mine elite it was been quite easy to get.
And no one don't playing anymore colony invasion at least not on pugs, so to make it on private and one solo, like sb24 perhaps?
Ha! Three hours long. Best make that queue very flexible on the minimum number of participants, cuz it's gonna be a ghost town.
for 2,5k i would played it alone, not problem, as reward worth so if it would be ghost time ok, at least reward worth, as 3 hours in team, without team 10 or 11, still worth more then doing it with stfs and not get that amount

Not even a solo run for the Big Dig or Klingon Scout Force takes that long. (Personal best for those are between 30-45 minutes).

Cute idea but i reckon someone could find a legitimate issue with it but i like the idea.
It would get more people to play more STFs.
Knowing I could get iconian marks from ISA/CCA instead of Grethor I know which maps I'd be playing for them
And if that's what people want..?
And add unique rare drops to all queues.
Then there would be no point in even having any other queues.
