Because someone else got disconnected and they want to make sure you can kill the borg or foozle. It's a feature. You'd appreciate it more if you noticed the times one or more of your team disappeared in mid-STF.
If it is CCA then it is slow loading of the map and power creep which allows the CE to be defeated in less than 2 minutes.
In other maps/queues it's a combination of player DC, slow map loading and power creep.
Now the real question is where the server stress originates from.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
it is with infected the conduit and crystaline catastrophe, and no rewards at end, just an AFK penalty which is maddening to say the least, if its down to others being disconnected, its the game servers, so it still needs sorting out regardless.
It's easy to avoid being placed in a crystalline mission (a.k.a. CCA). If there's a certain amount of people playing, you can practically predict that you'll be placed in a mission that's already started.
For example, if you see that 28 people are playing it, you'll be number 29 and then you'll most likely enter a queue that's already in progress. As long as the amount of players is below x5 (like 5, 15 or 25) you can usually safely assume that the mission hasn't started yet and that you'll be placed in a 'clean' instance so to say.
For other queues: if you see that 4 or 3 people are in the column 'playing' for over half a minute, then it's a mission that's already started. As you usually can't start with 4 or 3 so someone must have left the instance after it started in such a case. The numbers are displayed there for a reason, I suggest paying attention to them as it will make things a lot easier if you don't want to join a mission that's started before you entered.
Although I'm not entirely certain if it works for all missions, there has been talk of a display issue a while back but I'm not sure if it's related to this.
To clarify: as noted by someone else, CCA is a somewhat weird instance as it's the mission that's finished faster than all others. So in this case it would be best to always wait until there's only x1, x2, x3 or x4 people in the 'playing' column or the 'queued' column.
In all other cases I suggest waiting for half a minute up to one minute before you queue, if you see there's 4 people under the column 'playing'. For most missions it shouldn't be a problem to wait 60 seconds or so, if the 4 players move from 'playing' to 'queued' then they were waiting to get started but someone left instead of pressing 'engage'. If they stay in the 'playing' column for longer than 60 seconds, then they are really playing and you'll most likely enter an instance that's already in progress.
Yes and no. Sometimes you get put into an ISA that's already failed the "optional" so you miss out on that chance. But you do get the actual rewards for the mission, yes.

thanks again
how long are your loading times? because maybe that is an issue you can address.
