Tactical escort ..... Minor assistance needed

I am playing as a tactical officer and using escort class ships. I want to figure out my leveling a bit. Not too much, but a bit.

I notice I'm hitting hard, and taking lots of damage as I figured, but taking them down fast enough so far..... I have no points invested in anything but tactical. Is this going to get bad later

Kind of... if you dont have resistances... but with some consoles, you can increase your resistance.. and i hope you invested points in long range sensors to avoid the loss of damage from a distance, also, i would use resilient shileds, to absorb some of the damage and lessen the bleedthrough..

take hull plating and maybe energized hull plating. that should toughen you a good bit. and if you can have one of sci boff use polarize hull.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

Below is the skills I use with small differences depending on the character. Please note that some of the highest dps players do not have many skills in the tactical tree and spec heavy into the science tree to open up the science ultimate. Now if you plan on acquiring the Plasmonic Leech Console spec into Drain experience (science) both points. Another essential skill in the science tree if you plan on using energy weapons (beams of cannons) spec into Long Range Targeting Sensors. It reduces the damage falloff at distances further then 2 kilometers. I would recommend all 3 points. For engineering I like to spec into Hull, Impulse speed, resistances and additional power for subsystems. The essential engineering skill would be Electroplasma systems. I recommend all three points. More EPS equals more DPS. For tactical skills Energy weapon training is essential for beams or cannons and I would suggest hull penetration all three points.
Everyone skills differently and since the skill revamp I find the skill tree is more forgiving then it use to be. If you are having fun and feel you are doing enough damage to get through the missions and normal STF's to complete the Reputations you should be fine.
