Sept 8th 50th anniversary and nothing?

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
Title says it all. 50 years ago today the world was first introduced to star trek. Why is nothing happening on sto ? This is kind of a big deal .

    Well, I'm not gonna be silent on the matter.

    Here's hoping for another 50 !

    Its still early U.S side maybe no ones had their coffee at Cryptic Studio's yet. But no acknowledgement at all is pretty shabby. Always said this group talked a good game but never cared about the i.p past a easy pay check

    Can someone please give me the details of the giveaway, i cant find anything in the GNN section. I cant log in the game until tonight, when does it end? No info at all.

    And what giveaway is that? No Giveaway has been advertised yet. Check back after 5.10pm GMT.

    Things like that are usually announced roughly an hour after maintenance so patience is a virtue.
    Even if there is nothing, there is nothing lost except an opportunity.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    The silence is pretty deafening, which is sad because I know that a lot of the folks that make the game are fans, just from their twitter feeds alone, but today...absolutely nothing. I know they've been busy, and I know that they've been celebrating the 50th anniversary with additions to the game for the last few months and all, but it would be a colossal blunder not to at the very least have a blog post acknowledging this once in a lifetime milestone.

    Let's hope that there's something that pops up later in the day.

    Not that it matters, but Google didn't do anything with their home page either...

    And they make a bit of a deal about people who have been dead for a century or more.

    Of course that could be because they don't want to tangle with CBS/Paramount over infringement rights.

    But still...

    They probably completely forget about it, and instead were busy this year making Agents of Yesterday, getting a Kelvin Connie and the TOS Connie as endgame ship into the game, and making Star Trek Online available on the TV screen as if Star Trek was some kind of goddamn TV show.
    Not a single nod to the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek.
    Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

    Checked various twitter accounts, No one has even tweeted a happy 50th..... That's kinda odd, given everyone's a fan.

    No acknowledgment what so ever. Like they are all keeping quite fer some reason........hmmmmm, (scratches head).

    They will probably announcement something after I have gone to work at 2pm (EDT).

    That always seem to be the case and I don't find out till I get home at midnight.

    I told some people at work today that this is the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek and they looked at me like I was crazy. I need more nerds in my life. :D

    This is a big deal Cryptic, please don't TRIBBLE this up by TOTALLY ignoring it, some of us won't be here to celebrate in another 50 after all.

    It only takes a second to tweet SOMETHING, ANYTHING acknowledging today, unless of course, you really aren't fans, then this would totally be just another day... Just sayin.

    And I repeat the above since people aren't paying attention.....THEY ARE PROBABLY ON LOCKDOWN! IE...not allowed to say ANYTHING till a specified time, which might be the ACTUAL broadcast time of the original episode!
