Admiralty Rosters a complete mess:
Hello. today i was going through the admiralty roster. I wanted to add in the ships which i forgot to add in before, a task i have been dreading.
the roster was a complete mess. you can only see a few ships at once and you have to scroll up and down to search for the ship. single use ships ("potions") also clog up the roster.
a spreadsheet export option would be useful. or perhaps all a filtering out of the single use ships.
also the filters would be more useful if the roster counter changed to say how many were in each class/tier etc. then at least i could work out which ships were missing from the roster.
anyhoo back to trawling through the rosters...

Maybe they didn't plan for those one time ships when they started developing it.
It needs to be reworked in that area.

I'm with you on that. But, the choice would be really nice. Along with the filtering option for 1x ships.
I like having the low-tier ships and small craft with less maintenance at the top. It makes filling easy missions or adding the last five points somewhere a bit quicker. But I wouldn't be too put out if it changed.
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

Interestingly enough, there is a pattern to the Admiralty Rosters, just takes a little getting used to.
Here are the "Sort Keys", as it were:
Tier.
Rarity. (Common, Uncommon, Rare, VR, Epic). Pay a bit of attention here, rarity usually ties to ship delivery method (Common = levelling freebies, Uncommon = C-store, Rare = Fleet, VR = Lockbox/Lobi/event, Epic = Special) and/or strength (Vestas that are bought from the C-store at fleet level? Gonna be "rare" cards...)
Engineering / Tactical / Science
By "name" or whatever. Though "potion" 1x Cards go first, then the actual ships (I have the Advanced Escort (T6). If I have a "one time use" card, it's usually right under the last "Rare" Engineering card I have, since I have no T6 C-store cruisers. Then I'll have a few more Tactical 1x use cards, then my "personal" reusable Adv. Esc. T6...)
So, once you "work out" a general idea of where the ship you're wanting is supposed to be, then a bit of scrolling to the appropriate place works wonders...

Actually...
normal text = me speaking as fellow formite
colored text = mod mode
Then again we're still waiting for the ability to search for Duty Officers by species or traits.
1. Role for Sci/Tact/Eng or small craft
2. Tier 1-6
3. Rarity
I have a completely free account, only thing on it is i converted enough dil to zen to buy the ec cap unlock. on that account my characters mostly run missions to get single use ships. there is even a mission that trwards a admiralty card you can replay to get more. i also hunt the auctionhouse for the cheaper ships, like mirror and the kazon raider or apc cruiser or nihydron destroyer. those are just a few million ec, but permanently unlock admiralty cards.
the pheonix card is really nice too since it turns off all event effects, like +sci etc. and that was free on first contact day.
any c-store ships they give away are a nice bonus, along with the event ships.
there are fleet ships too, but modules are expensive compared to mirror ships.
