Moreover, most people are really, amazingly terrible at reporting issues and providing enough detail to even start looking at a problem.

You are one of those people. Except you graduated down from "enough detail" to "no detail." You are any technical person's troubleshooting bane who must be handheld through the process of determining what is happening.

You do not have money tied up in this game, because that money is not coming back.

I can guarantee that this topic will be closed as well since discussing moderating is not allowed.
Without being able to read the topic/bug report there is not a lot i or anyone else can say on the matter.

Topics tend to be removed when multiple topics on the subject exist, if it throws an exploit in the open or otherwise goes against the TOS. Again, without the topic there is nothing anybody can say on the matter.

Heated topics such as this are usually short lived though.

Edit: following the link provided above i would say that the topic was closed because it mentioned a certain narcotic.

But we'll have all weekend to discuss it, cause..., you know..., threads like this don't get closed till Monday mornings.

The strategy which keeps me sanest, really, is to just work from the assumption that this game simply has no customer support at all (because, let's face it, for all purposes and intent, it hasn't). Best way to get a bug/issue resolved is to simply post in bug reports: there, occassionally, something happens with it. That's all. Every higher expectation will only, inevitably, lead to pain.

hay guys what's going on in this thread

Yet another user with an over-inflated ego thinking that they have a snowballs chance of actually scaring Cryptic ?

That being said, I do believe the OP said something abut having plenty of time. That time would be much better spent doing something that might actually help solve the problem.....whatever that problem truly is as the lack of ANY pertinent information makes it impossible to know.

Since the OP obviously has access to the forums, a quick and extremely easy forum search will reveal a huge number of posts dealing with connection issues (the only clue provided amidst all the hilarity in the post).

Some of those posts actually provide detailed instructions on how to track (trace actually) exactly where the problem lies, and unless my failing memory is fooling me, a few of them even stated that if you pasted the results into a thread, they would gladly try to assist you. I might be wrong on that last part though. It has been a long time since I visited those particular threads ....... and used the info I found to solve the flaky connection I was having at the time. A problem which had absolutely nothing to do with Cryptic, PWE, CBS, or any other entity connected with the game, exactly as everyone said was the case.

However, for the OP, a huge part of me truly hopes that you, yet again, ignore the helpful information provided to you as once you solve your problem you won't be posting such hilarious stuff in the forums anymore.

    LTS and loving it.

hay guys what's going on in this thread

The OP used the name of a narcotic in a bug report which got the report closed.
Then the OP created this topic with the assumption that his report was closed because it was a bug report.

Beyond that it was a tantrum with amounts of money spend and so forth. This entitlement in turn attracted the troll/taunt squad. Overall it's a regular weekend troll fest.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Are we still talking about this? Why?

When there is an accident on the side of the road, sure you rubber neck, but you keep on trucking to you destination regardless. TRIBBLE on the side of the road too btw.

Community is bored out of their skull waiting for new/interesting/non TOS content.

Keep waiting, there will most likely be a TOS themed something for the 50th. There are 15 blank days on the Calendar from the end of August until September 14th. The 8th is in there. You do the math.

CBS won't care. Nor should they be concerned with your internet connection.

Of course CBS Cares... http://www.cbs.com/cbs_cares/ :innocent:

In all seriousness, OP, there are two things to make note of:
    1. This is not the appropriate subforum for a Bug Report. You should be posting under "Home › Star Trek Online › Support › PC, Network, and Other Technical Issues › Windows and General: PC, Network, and Other Technical Issues" for connection issues, though there are also a number of posts on the subject under "Home › Star Trek Online › Support › Gameplay Bug Reports" where it appears that specific gameplay activities are creating the disconnect or crash. Still, "Home › Star Trek Online › Star Trek Online General Discussion" is for general discussion, as the name implies.
    2. On that note, the first rule about moderation is not to talk about moderation. You can try contacting the Mod directly (the Forum has a messaging system built in) if you have questions about why a thread was locked and how to avoid that in the future... but try and be civil. In any case, posting in General Discussion about moderation would likely be interpreted as discussing that moderation... because it kinda is.

It was most likely the drugs reference in his post, it's always best not to make any mention of those, it's a bit of a no-no on a lot of forums for obvious reasons

So....in education to how the forum censor works, appearently they added misspellings of bad words also. I wrote "ash oles" with no space and it got caught....

    Astonishing.

Funny thing is: half the posters in this thread are as much in error and pointless in their comments as the OP.

Yes, I'm aware that I might be one of them. Just wondering if all those others are aware of this as well... Guess some people just can't visit the Forum without posting 'in before the lock' or random pictures somewhere every now and then.
  • ltminnsltminns Member Posts: 12,572 Arc User
