Hello,
The title may sound click-bait-ish but thats pretty much what happened today in The Science Channel.
after unfortunate failure at The Battle of Procyon 5 (Elite) where defences of ent-j at some point got overwhelmed we started to think about differentating our tactic for this mission.
Then during tlks about how new spawns atacking closest target visible are messing up our approach of one person drawing aggro and the other closing portal someone mentioned that new spawn on portals occurs only when previous got killed.
And here and Idea has been born.
We all know how potent in case of pulling Gravity Well ability can be - especially we, the folks of The Science Chat
but "optimal" by current meta utilisation of such an ability would mean pumping out the "Exoting PArticle Generators" skill to maximise it shield ignoring damage. This time we decided to try to create a build with strongest possible pull - but minimal possible damage.
The idea was that two ship with such setup will pull - using GW ability - enemies from their respective "halfs" of the portals and keep them away and keeping them alive, by thus limiting posibility of respawn messign up with a job of portal closers, the primal variant of the tactic assumed thrid vessel with similar specialisation - just with more healing abilities that can be shared with others to sit ontop of Ent-j and keep the "other spawns" welled and in distance, unfortunately with amounts of people and reources we didnt managed to get it on the testrun.
Also on a note I'll say thatdue to mentioned limited resources the control ship you'll see on the video below is not "pimped out" as it should be - most of science consoles are were merely mk12 vr graviton generator consoles instead of planned romulan embasy -th [ctrx] mk14, and also with great probability with more resources more universal consoles directly buffing CtrX skill and/or even space gear with more bonuses towards it could be added to the build to increase its mainly meant effectiveness, what you will see in a moment [if you atention span is still holding :P] is a testrun of quickly grabbed together vessels build with minimal needed dps in mind - in The Battle of Procyon 5 (Elite), have a good time

Dear cryptic, even with The Batle of Procyon 5 having seemingly rushed design with 3 phases of exacly the same thing without anything really to make it more interesting, we thank you for giving our ques that are won by good battleplan, teamwork and cooperation instead of blingly bfawing everything around, and racing who'll do more dps, we thank you for a que, where straight dpsing things down is actually counterproductive and where turning the brain on is required, probably for these exact reasons The Battle of Procyon 5 will not be most popular que in a long run, but it doesn;t change the fact that it is indeed step in good side
[PS. on an additional note as you have probably noticed really bad lag spikes in the gameplay - this thing started happening to me in the night between yesterday and the day before, with yesterday reaching outrageous levels of two failed P5E runs whith me not having any control over ships movement for half the match - I don;t have anything really else to turn off - any idea how to "fix" it?]
[PPS. don't hate me if its wrong forum section as far as I've understood forum section description this one sounded best suiting for this thread]

It was a fun battle i have to admit, and worked surprisingly well for our poorly geared ships. It showed that getting bogged down trying to nuke the mobs at the portals is a waste of time, simply controlling them to allow the guys shutting them free reign is much more effective.
