Going back to 23c Sector Space & ESD after Caleb IV

I just saw a Level 30 (Captain) who was in a fleet flying around in 23c Sector Space. I know 23c characters can't join a fleet until after they get dropped off in 25c (I tried)... so, is there some secret way to go back, or was this person exploiting a bug?

I tried sending a PM to ask, but I got SNR'd and disconnected before I got an answer.

    Could that person have been using mission replay? The first 23c mission concludes at Ye Olde Timey ESD.

    Not likely. The initial mission, "The Taurean Affair", which ends at ESD is not available for replay. The rest, beginning with "In the Shadow of Cestus" can be replayed, but do so from their starting locations on the 25c Sector Space map. (I tried that yesterday to go back and pick up some things I missed. Ended up deleting/re-creating my toon to make sure I didn't miss anything the 2nd time around.)

    It's annoying...I've got the "Explore Earth Spacedock" mission with Skip and Replay greyed-out, but the Transwarp button is available. I click it and can travel for 0 EC, but nothing happens and it's not appearing in my In-Progress or is highlighted on the map. I just checked on another Toon I created and I can't share it. There has got to be a way to get back on that station to get the skills!

    That frustration led me to delete my AoY character and start over... I transferred some EC and Dil from other characters so I could raid the 23c before I left it... I'm taking my time, replaying the missions over and over (except for Caleb IV)... Right now I'm lv 19 with a cache of mk IX of everything sitting in my inventory to be used after I rejoin civilization.

    That player probably never left the 23c map. I'm assuming that it's possible to just not play any new missions and simply replay the 3 or so other ones. Plus once you hit 11, you unlock doffing which increases leveling drastically.
    When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

    Might have been possible, except the person was in a fleet... There's no Fleet Liaison officer in 23ESD (so you can't create a 23c Fleet), and 23c Characters can't join 25c Fed fleets because, until after Caleb IV, they're marked as a separate faction. I've tried: I had my main toon send a fleet invite to my AoY toon and got a "wrong faction" error.

    He could have joined his pre-existing fleet. The invite limitation may only be based on level. This isn't like the Romulans that must choose a faction. Unless of course you did your test with a character that was higher than level 10.

    Nope. My main Fed toon, trying to invite my lv 19 AoY toon (deliberately still in 23c), the error I get is: 
    [Fleet] Error inviting to fleet: that player is not a member of the same allegiance.

    I don't understand...why do this? Why go to the effort of creating a 23c. starbase, complete with unique skills (that appear as options in any toon's tree, by the way) and not let you return or learn those skills?

    I had NO idea that I would never be able to get them again, otherwise I would have NEVER continue to rank :-( My whole new toon, I'm keeping original...all TOS weapons, uniforms and I want those skills with the sounds and special effects!

    Wait, there's no way to go back?

    The Caleb IV mission was my second mission after reaching ESD - I have three more left there. Does that mean I have to delete my character and start again?

    If I were to guess, I'd say that they skipped one of the AOY missions, finished the rest, went to 25th century and joined a fleet. Then, whenever they want, they can pick the mission back up, pay to transwarp to it and drop the mission once there; picking up the mission again whenever they wish to return.

    I missed three missions (due to not realising the order was wrong) and there's no way for me to return. Transwarp is greyed out.

    If someone figures this out, let me know too! I have some 23c mortars I need to pick up for my engineers

    Sooo... what I am hearing is my 23c character is stuck in the 25c after the summer event’s ‘depart system’ option defaulted her there, before she could even transwarp at lvl10? It wants me to go to the Caleb IV like ol boy said too, only I get there and I cannot enter the system to continue the 23c questline. I just... this is never going to be addressed is it? Customer support said it was gameplay and they cannot help, and honestly, having to police this game is a job that clearly can never be done, so this is ultimate job security right guise? Sorry, but I have given a lot of money to the people at Cryptic and Perfect world, and this is but one of the many problems this game has given me for my ‘premium account’.
