Can we stop with these threads already? As lovers of all (or most) Trek alike, we should just be able to accept that Kelvin Sulu is in a relationship with another man - regardless of what George Takei or anybody else says, KT-Sulu's sexuality is now canon as per the CBS/Paramount rulings for canon (if it appeared on screen, it's canon).
Yes, George Takei's portrayal of Sulu may have been intended to be that of a straight man; however, that was for a different time, when the minds of the masses were closed to such preposterous and outrageous ideas - I'm fairly certain you could be imprisoned for sodomy back in the '60s. Add to the fact we never saw anything of Sulu's marital status, aside from that one-off appearance of Demora Sulu in Generations, and the arguments on both sides get pretty damned ridiculous.
