They didn't say that the price of the pack would go up to $270.50 after a promotional period. What they said was that the value of the pack would be $270.50 if you purchased all of it separately. The price of the pack is and will be $129.99. It's just like the big ship bundles; if you're going to buy all of that anyway the bundle gives you the better deal.
I'm tempted but I want more details before I fork over that much real money. £99 is quite a lot for a handful of ships/uniforms that only one of my characters can use.
If they'd increase the price to $270 it would be equal to lifetime membership. I don't see that happening.
The other expansions cost 16000 zen (LoR) and 15000 zen (DR) each. $270 dollars would mean the equivalent of 27000 zen. They're not going to sell it for that much, it's just the price you would have to pay if you bought all 11 ships and uniforms separately.

Same here. Some of the ships look quite nice. But I'm not going to pay that much money for some titles, uniforms and upgrade and train tokens that we'll most likely be able to craft anyway. The lower tier ships aren't really worth it for me either. You use them for a few episodes and then they'll be placed in drydock or discarded, unlikely to ever be used again.
Unless there's some very interesting consoles coming with those ships, or unless they'll add some other unique stuff that's also useful while playing the game, I think I'll just buy one or two T6 ships. The last five ships (Theseus - Ouroboros class) look the most interesting to me. Some of them will probably have stats or lay outs that don't suit my playstyle so I'll most likely end up buying 3 or 4 at most. Assuming they'll be put on sale the first week, it's going to be a lot cheaper to just get them separately for Zen.
It's a good deal, I found myself buying nearly everything out of the DR pack anyways. The fact they are specialization ships definitely let's you know atleast some will be worth having.
For the price of ~4 T6 ships you get six and plenty of extras. I like multiple playstyles so I'll go ahead and grab it.
@risian4 My main grumble is that so far the packs don't seem to include anything for other factions. I started off with KDF and only ever made a Fed character for the last recruitment event. I've no particular urge to make any more just to play with a few new toys, especially when I've already invested a fair bit on the other timeships.
edit: @reyan01 Compare the new packs with the Delta one: 5 Fed ships and 2 each for Rom and KDF, plus a handful of intelligence BOFFs and some uniform unlocks. I only have the one Fed character so as it stands now I wouldn't get very much use out of the new bundles.

The ships themselves are liable to be accountwide unlocks.
I think he's trying to say he only plays KDF and thus most of the ships won't be useful. But we don't even know which factions will be able to use them.
I personally am - close to buying this pack. The one sticking point is that they can be used on my existing characters. Yes, this is the FIRST of many announcements about this expansion. So far it sounds pretty good, and I am curious as to what this expansion will bring but I have several questions, specifically about the ships:
Will my current characters be able to use at the VERY least the T6 ships from this pack?
When I create this new character will it have access to the other ships that I have bought that relate to the TOS era?
Will the new character move into the current timeline and be able to use the T6 ships that I have bought already?
I am intrigued by the idea of a " faction" in the game based strictly in the TOS universe, however I have invested a LOT of real $$$$$ in this game over the years, and would be a bit disappointed if I am not allowed to use the fruits of that investment on a new character. As I say, this is the FIRST of many announcement, and like others have said, I'm pretty sure more things will be added to the pack to sweeten the deal the closer to release time we get. I will be holding off a little while buying this pack, while making sure I have an extra $100 or so ready to blow on pixels and new shinny's when the time comes.

Come on people, the previous Expansion Packs were in the $124.99 to $129.99 range on pre-order and just after release. Then they went to their full Expansion Pack price of $159.99. The $270.50 is the 'if you bought everything separately price' and is NOT meant to be the PACK price. Do the math on Delta Rising individual components and compare to the PACK price. You'll find the same.

Probably more, since there are likely more ships being added to the list closer to launch like in previous expansions.

Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
