The Spatial Charges are only a problem if they actually hit. If you're targeted, keep moving. They don't track.

Yeah, even though the citadel is scaled at 60, torps and grav well are a wonderful combination. Once the voth ships lose their shields, their hull are easy prey to a torpedo bomber

First phase: equip a bunch of beam arrays, get BFAW, and mash spacebar a lot. Or let a teammate do it. Or you can reduce throttle and pop one hard point at a time.

Second phase: close the hangar doors (the inside of the hangar is orange, the doors are grey), press interaction button near friendly NPCs, and kill things. After that, go to the force field blocking your path (on one of the long sides of the room) and interact to proceed.

Third phase: press interaction button near friendly NPCs and kill things. For the Dread, it will use a reflective immunity matrix regularly. As soon as you see a shimmery shield around it, probably accompanied by a bunch of "Immune" damage floaters, stop firing. If your ship gets a diamond-shaped targeting reticle around it, use Evasive Maneuvers and fly fast. Look behind you and you'll see the spatial charges that explode after a few seconds. The best way to kill the Dread is to have a few people in your group with ridiculous DPS.

Fourth phase: fly up to one of the big blocks, interact with it, and look at the name of the subpower core. If it includes a "?", do not shoot it. If you do, it will slow and damage you and any nearby allies (clear it with Science Team, or mitigate it with Tac Team). Shoot the one without a "?" and it'll disappear at 67% and 33% health, at which point you play the shell game again.

Fifth phase: if you get to close, you'll get a bunch of tractor beams on you and then it'll teleport you to an inconvenient location and orientation. If you fly behind the rotating shields, you'll take a lot of damage. Torpedoes and other hull-damaging effects are great here. Use your big CDs (Tac Fleet, APA, APO, Iconian 3-piece, high-yield torps, Warhead Module, etc.) when you can hit the core. When it's near dead, use the Speed power preset and hit Evasive Maneuvers to go toward the exit. Full Impulse when you can, but if you're tagged back into combat, just keep moving until you can Full Impulse (the high engine power helps). If you have the Fluidic Phase Decoupler console, use that with Evasive and you won't even need Full Impulse.

On the trench run, hard points come back after a while. Does anyone know if they still count if they're popped a second or third time?
      • markhawkmanmarkhawkman Member Posts: 35,236 Arc User
I think they do. I think it just counts the number of hardpoint kills

I think breach is way fun, just my opinion. I don't get annoyed at games that's when you go outside or play another game.

It is definitely a nice mission. Especially the part where you can fight and still fly at full impulse speed. I'm always reminded of the battle in Sacrifice of Angels, from the moment the Sitak and the Majestic get destroyed onwards :)
