Orion Slavers Broken?

orionsruleorionsrule Member Posts: 22 Arc User
Elite Orion Slavers seem to not be stealing anything now.

I emptied my inventory, brig and then wrote down the ec I had. I have been to Japory three times now. All I did was launch the fighters then followed them around, not firing any of my weapons. I let the slavers do all the fighting. I also did not pick up any drops from defeated ships.

At the end of each run I checked my inventory, brig and ec. Inventory and brig are still empty, no increase in ec.

I have not checked the advanced orion slavers, but I figure if the elite aren't stealing anything then odds are the advanced aren't either.

Could the items be in the overflow bag?

This being test server, I went back and checked. Nothing in inventory (as I said, it was completely empty befor I even started the runs) but no overflow bag either.

Also realized it's Japori and not Japory. Heh.

Hm..most likely a bug then. With any luck (and a few submitted bug reports) it should be fixed before the next large update goes live.

Is this also a Holodeck bug, or only happening on Tribble?

Not a bug on Holodeck. Just to make sure I ran Japori on Holodeck just now.

Got 6 provisions, 2 medical supplies, and 740 ec for the entire run.

Not a great amount, but seems to show its working ok there.

Tracked it down. An error was caused during the Crew conversion. It's been fixed internally.

    Thanks for reporting it!

Ok, it is kind of fixed.

Two runs through Japori tonight. They stole some common stuff like medical supplies and provisions and even some contraband. No prisoners which was expected because of the Crew conversion.

No rare commodities showed in my inventory, but that could be from rng on the tables. I'll need to do a bunch more runs to see if they show.

The big thing that usually shows is energy credits. I get EC almost every combat and definitely get several hundred EC during a Japori run on Holodeck. I have not received any EC so far on Tribble. I'll try to do some more runs tomorrow night and check back here with the results I'm seeing.

prisoners are part of the doff system - they have absolutely nothing to do with crew

though, considering admiralty showers prisoners on you, that part of the slavers is pretty much worthless since you can only hold 20 prisoners at a time

So - if we're losing the ability to get prisoners because of crew conversion, can we get a micro-buff to our success rate to compensate? Or something? It seems like deprecated powers/stats aren't being replaced....

I may have to plead old age and senility on that. The more I think about it, the more I realize that prisoners were few and far between when I used slavers.

The thing that is bugging me right now is EC. I don't remember one run on Holodeck that I didn't get at least a couple hundred EC. Nothing earth shattering about it cause you are not going to be buying a 500 mil ship with just the EC from slavers, but all the same it bugs me.

Made one run tonight on Holodeck, netted 1000 EC, 2 provisions and 3 contraband.

    Two runs on Tribble.

First run got me 6 contraband, 2 medical supplies, 2 communications arrays, 1 astrometric probe, and 2 provisions. A really good run even if there wasn't any EC.

Second run got 2 medical supplies, 1 communications array, 1 contraband and 1 water purification system. No EC.

The whole problem is there is no way from the player side to see the numbers that roll for success/failure or the roll on the loot table to be sure it is all correct. For all I know I may be getting numbers on Holodeck that end up giving me EC and not getting the numbers on Tribble and everything is working just fine.

But since it is such a obvious difference I feel the need to bring it up just in case there really is a problem.

a single contraband is worth between 40-60K EC, depending on market fluctuation...that's far better than a piddly 500 EC directly, and being that you managed to get at least one in two different runs, it looks like the drop rate of contraband might've been upped slightly - which is good if true, because that's what people buy the slavers for in the first place

they certainly don't buy them for the sh*tty weapons or paper hulls

Oh...neat! Thanks for the info, man!!! I appreciate it. That said, what about other crew-related powers? Whats going to happen to them? (like ones that are on set items, etc...)

I would make the argument that of all the TRIBBLE, nerfed combat pets, Slavers aren't too bad: They ALWAYS have a beam on-target - you can get a debuff from the disruptor. They have torps and they lay mines. That also steal TRIBBLE occasionally. Not too shabby!

slavers don't have torpedoes at ANY rank, and having a mine is the equivalent of having no weapon at all - they're THAT terrible

so we're left with a single beam array, ergo, sh*tty weapons

False. They do have photorps. Bro, do you even slave?

I think I see where the error comes from: The STO Wiki isn't showing the correct armament. I use elite slavers. THEY certainly have them.

Well no wonder I'm not getting EC from the slavers. I'm not getting EC from anything!

I forgot I'm above the FTP cap on tribble because the store is disabled. I have the cap increase on Holodeck but it doesn't transfer over.

I did get a rare commodity on my run tonight, so I'm guessing everything is WAI for slaver pets.
