This Stuff Really Needs to be Addressed...

A while back I created a rather lengthy thread in the bug report forums of a whole host of issues affecting Star Trek Online. The overwhelming majority of said issues I've reported are graphics/animations bugs that affect either ships, player ground gear, or even the environment in some maps. Some of the things I placed in this list are also oversights, or places where there could be improvements on the visual side. That being said, some of the issues I mentioned have been around in this game for many moons, some have even been around for years with not attention. You can find this thread and the list of things I've reported HERE.

One thing I feel the need to point out is that about 90% of the issues I've reported are exclusive to the Romulan Republic and the KDF factions. This is really alarming to me, because it seems that any bugs that affect Starfleet things get quickly addressed and remedied, yet the issues affecting the Romulan Republic and KDF are placed on the backburner for an extremely long amount of time. I understand that resources may be spread thin, but for some of these issues be present for years without even the slightest attempt to fix them is just ridiculous.

More people play the Federation than they do the other two factions, so the Federation is always going to see the bugs squashed first.

Thank you for the list OP but this is just a tiny sampling of the bugs from STO:
Most errors are system wide and not only to ROMs/KDF

73% of the player base should not = 100% of the support.

    Take your own advice.

I think it should be fairly addressed across all factions. And what people say is true there is a much higher player base on the federation side but lets also remember that at launch there was only pvp missions for klingons and made it very very hard to level a KDF character. Also Romulans are newer to the game and have a smaller player base on that alone.
I'm just telling you what I see in the game. I'm newly returned since release and shocked that some of these bugs are still happening after 6 years. I have run into missions that are non completeable due to some bugs. Even after relog it still had this issue. I had to come back the next day to get the mission to even work. Anyway, just my opinion as someone who just came back to the game.

I looked at this list and while yes some of this stuff needs to be fixed as a programmer you have to look at it in terms of priority. None of these items seemed like major mission critical operations to me. Mission critical being game breaking things that actually cause the game to stop working or hang as well as broken abilities. As a developer I'm sure Cryptic actually does look at these and they may get put on a list but they are put at the bottom of the list because they are not a priority.

Lets not forget that PWE is also Cryptic's "boss" per se and if it's not really making money then why do it. Unfortunately this is the way things work in game development and there are some bugs and glitches from opening that still haven't been addressed and probably never will. As we have noticed over the last year or just even a few months that content has been pushed out rather quickly and lets not forget about the almighty lockbox. This is what makes them money and they will continue to do it.

I'm sure Cryptic would like to just go through and fix all these bugs but what money will that make them it would incur a heavy cost and yield zero profit thus putting them in the red. While it does make the playerbase sour they know what sells and it's content and with that new content most of the bugs are forgotten by the playerbase and they move on. Also lets not forget that Cryptic is not going to put in the patch notes what they fixed when it comes to minor bugs like that so while you may not see it in the patch notes it might actually get fixed.

However, all this doesn't mean that you should stop posting bug reports in fact continue to do so but remember it's helpful to post a proper bug report which goes like this:
    • Post the problem be brief but detailed.
    • Post a way to reproduce the problem be precise in how you reporduce it.
    • Post your results after you reproduce the bug be specific. What was the intended result and what actually happened.
    • Screenshots can be handy if you have any.
    • Above all use proper language don't bash them in any way you want this report to be as objective as possible no emotion needed.

Correct, they're for the most part just graphics issues. However, just because they're not on the top of the priority list doesn't mean that they should be ignored for months/years on end. At least put the stuff in the "known issues" category so we know the team is aware of them.

That said, the issue with the T6 B'rel BoPs not being able to use the B'rotlh BoP skin is something that needs to be addressed ASAP. This was an advertised feature of the ship when it was released back in November of 2015 and it is not working properly. The issue with the Krenim Science Vessel not being able to equip the two universal consoles from the Zahl Heavy Cruiser and Krenim Warship is also something that needs to be fixed quickly. The tooltips for those consoles clearly states that they are usable on any Krenim ship, but that is not the case. It's just like that issue with the T6 Starfleet Dreadnought Cruiser not being able to equip the Molecular Cohesion Nullifier and Cloaking Device consoles at release even though it was supposed to be able to do so.

Tbh most of these are cosmetic issues and therefore bound to be mid to low level issues to be fixed.
