It'd be plausible, if Sela and Hakeev weren't here. STO penned the definitive reasons for the fall of the Empire in this continuity.
That said, I could definitely see Section 31 - or even the Federation proper - messing heavily in Romulan affairs post ST:Nemesis. Putting STO aside, that's a serious possibility. But within the context of the game lore, the fault lies squarley with the Tal Shiar and corrupt Imperial leadership.
Well we don't really know what originally caused the Sela temporal paradox. Yes now Sela is caught in a loop of seeking revenge and the Iconians seeking revenge on her but we haven't actually seen what set the chain of events in motion. I'll say this much it's rather convenient that the Temporal police didn't get involved in the whole Iconian affair , I guess maintaining the timeline only matters if you like the outcome.

LOL, once again the Federation picking and choosing. Sure, it's a complete and utter alteration of the timeline leading to the deaths of billions - or even trillions - that results from a 6-digit time jump backwards. But the Federation won, so who cares!

Unless earth gets blowed up they dont care about the death count... TRIBBLE with earth and all bets are off, we'll goat TRIBBLE any/all rules to fix it

The fact that the Iconians had been targeting the Romulan polity, for such a long time, means that they are not as socially advanced as they say they were/are. They could have just manipulated the Federation to accidentally destroy Earth, and watch the majority of the Beta Quadrant dissolve into a generation long war; but no, they had to have their emotional prize, no matter if it wasn't the most tactically sound choice, or not.
