Starship Customization is suffering from memory loss

kayajaykayajay Member Posts: 1,990 Arc User
Is anyone else having this problem...

I used to be able to go to Starship Customization (it would remember what my ship already looked like, skin, etc) and I could just change one thing, like the nacelles or the skin. When I've been going to the ship tailors recently though, it's always the bog-standard look of the ship that appears and I have to completely reassemble the look I started with and just wanted to tweak.

There is a button to SAVE your costumes for you, your boffs, and your ships too.

I have a similar problem on my Faeht. I customized it when I first got it, but ever since I cannot change anything. And I don't mean it won't save, I mean when I click on an option, it just goes back to the option that was already selected.

I have customization problems with every ship I think. I would change things, close the window and nothings changed. Now I just go in change what I want, save, exit, enter, load saved and repeat if necessary. Sometimes it takes 2 tries. Hope they fix it. Think that problem was an issue a few months back but then they fixed it so I'm not sure if its the same issue that came back or something new

Yeah, I noticed that just tonight. I edited a ship just to change the bridge on it, and it reverted everything to... not even the default template for the class, but the first one listed on the left. Fortunately, it was easy enough to re-apply my old settings. But it's really irritating that it's doing this. :/

I noticed this when I was tweaking a ship. When I opened it up in the shipyard window there was a default ship with none of the adjustments I had made. I backed out with cancel. When I opened the ship tailor a second time my customized ship appeared. Don't know if it's a reliable fix but it corrected on two occasions.

When you open the 'ship tailor', you will not see the ship you have (you have customized), but the standard version as it comes out of the box. What helps for me is closing the window and open it again. This bug has been here, as I remember, for quite some time.

I think it started about the same time as the T6 Malem came out, before that I never had it happen to me, but after that it was happening to my girlfriend and I every time we'd use the ship tailor.

As someone mentioned just open, cancel and open again. It's actually the only way I open the ship tailor now as it happens every time.

I have a bug occassionally where the first time I try to edit my ship costume, I get a standard look in the editor. If I cancel and try again, I get the current look. No idea why that is.

Not even that -- at least, not for me. It reverts to the first template in the template list, whatever that happens to be; sometimes it's the original, and other times (esp. on ships with lots of templates available, e.g., the Hestia) it's something completely different.

    Exactly - my D'Khellra (T6) alway first shows as D'Deridex (T4, or T5 retrofit)
Saving ship costume works - until you get new ship, or want change look for a ship that i did not saved costume for before
(and i have many ships with unsaved costumes)
