i have been playing for three years . i had no idea that Power Transfer Rate was important for beam builds. i was watching some videos on the romulan Scimitar Dreadnought .i noticed i had better gear then him but he was doing more damage.guess you really do learn something every day lol.

As far as i know, allowing points in PTR only improves the speed at which power is transferred between your ship's various subsystems. But, shouldn't this only matter if you actively tamper with the power tray?
I mean, as a TAC, i fly a full antiproton beam Vonph Dreadnought carrier, and my power tray is invariably set to max for weapons... So how exactly is PTR useful in that case?
FYI PTR doesn't recover it faster it refills it faster so you need to overcap your weapon power which means boost it as high as you possibly can. Even though it may only say 125 the rest is placed in reserve and refills the bar as it drains, PTR let's you refill that bar faster.
Ok, well, thanks for the answers guys. I had, like, no idea this worked that way. I guess another thing Cryptic needs to fix is the accuracy of info bubbles. This or that, it appears i'm in for a respec <.<

This video provides a very clear and easy to understand explanation of how EPS helps boost your DPS.

I have always specced six points in it, not because I am so smart, but because I thought it might be good if I want to swap power from one system to another. In other words, with points here you cannot go wrong.
Now here is my noob thing. I recently found out that the plasma weapon damage boost from the romulan kit, also boost plasma weapon damage from your boffs weapons. I wonder now if this is also the case with the trait that romulan captains and boffs have and does it stack?
