Missed last years event

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
Hello, I was unable to complete last years winter event and did not claim the raider and missing the last console for breen set, any chance we can get a way to complete it??

    If you still have the raider (or cruiser, or carrier) slotted, you have the remainder of this year's event to complete it. However, that may require a substantial Lobi investment, as we have what, 16-ish days left (as of this writing) to get 25 days of marks...

    If you don't have the ship slotted anywhere, then yeah, you're out of luck. Welcome to our new EP's vision where "Event exclusivity" is a thing...

    You would've needed to have the project (Raider/Cruiser/Carrier) slotted PRIOR to this year's Winter Event in order to complete it DURING this year's Winter Event. If not, then there is no way to claim the previous Breen ships.

    This year's vouchers can be used to complete the old projects.

    Any uncompleted projects will be removed at the end of this Event or at least prior to next year's Event.

    If you have at least one character on your account that had previously claimed any or all of the previous Breen ships, then those ships are now account unlocks for all current and future characters on that account. Claim them in the Event Store Reclaim Tab.

    what about people who were not even playing during those times? craptic still gives out partial sets as mission rewards with absolutely no way to finish it? cant see why they cant run a old event week or something to allow new players the ability to get the items or put them in the lobi/dil/zen store for purchase.

    Id toss em in the lobi store so they were TECHNICALLY available but YOU had to flush out some cash to keep the game running and pay for developer paychecks to get it if you want it that bad.

    Anniversary ships should be buyable as Dyson is, with Fleet Ship Modules/FC.
    Breen's lobi store, I agree. Summer event ship(s)...err should be given to dancing Orion characters for free and lobis for the rest. :p

    Yes. Some people are jerks like that. It's sad though, that their enjoyment of the game seems to be dependent on other people getting discriminated against.

    This whole exclusivity deal won't necessarily last. The mechanics of event ship acquisition have been changed pretty much yearly. And quite frankly the current situation doesn't make much sense for the goal of getting people to play more and/or to spend more money. Those old ships are just...wasted.

    then you have missed it and that is that. those exclusive thing has been going since sto launched, it has not changed in 5 years, i doubt it ever will.

    your best bet is to plan ahead and get some time slot for when you wish to get these free ships in the future. that is all you can do.

    The Oddy Prototype was the first event ship, it's in the fleet store(T5 though). It'd be nice if the alien event ships could be bought with Lobi(maybe as account unlocks)

    i dont care for it and don't want it, not because its TRIBBLE or anything, but because of what it represents, an NA only contest for the next enterprise and i will never accept it because it was NA only. but for everyone who missed the oddy.

    if you going to swing one way, then forces involved says the swing has to go the other way as well. otherwise leave it where it is.

    People that haven't played in a long time get different incentives to come back, like offers for free C-Store ships. (This year, several players got the Andromeda offered, for example, much to the envy of long term players). But the event ships are now there to reward people that stay and play for the events and regularly come back for it.

    I don't know if this is a sensible approach to marketing and player retention, but it is what Cryptic has been doing, and only they will really know how well it works for them.

    My guess as to why Cryptic are on an exclusivity rampage, is because there are too many non-faction ships. Part of the CBS agreement where Cryptic could sell non-faction ships was that they have to be rare. However, if you fly to ESD, etc, you'll find that maybe at sometimes half or more of the ships there will be non-faction ships. Best guess is CBS warned them to bump up the exclusivity, or Cryptic is preemptively doing it so that CBS won't get mad.

    You may find that they'll lower the chances of getting special ships in lockboxes soon too. Or even make it so the grand prize ship can only be rewarded during times that its specific lockbox is dropping.

    Nah, the most reasonable purely conjecture explanation is to blame that on Geko. Salami got the unlocks but needed to get rid of the old stuff to placate the Geko. How is that for a conspiracy explanation. ;)

    That's kinda what the word "Event" implies: You can only get the reward during a specific timeframe. I've missed events in this game and others, I actually skipped the first event ship I was around for (the Breen something or other in 2013) because it was ugly and the ice race annoyed me. Then I took a break and came back to the game far too late to get the Samsar. It's just part of these games. Get over it.

    It has not. It started this year with the Kobali cruiser which was not added to the lobi store after the anniversary event like it should've, then the removal of the Risan ships. And the mechanics for event ship acquisition have changed every year.

    Before 2015, the only ship that wasn't available was the T5 non-fleet version of the Ambassador/Kamarag cruisers. Even then the fleet version and the T3 have always been available.

    I am a new player, only been playing 4 or so months.
    I have no problem whatsoever that I cannot get any of any type of reward that has been given out before I ever started playing.

    I wasn't here for any of them, why should I be able to get something that was given out to players who were actually supporting the game at that time they were given?

    I fail to understand the 'I'm entitled to everything attitude' that so many people seem to have.

    So there are some sets I won't be able to complete. No big deal.

    That would work if they did the same with lockbox/lobi ship's, but they aren't, so it doesn't wash..

    Only two reason's make up for this decision, 1 being the ship's affecting their bottom line, and 2 them forcing you to log in and participate in every event..

    and why should it not be either or both of these reasons, players seem to forget its cryptic's game they make the rules and have the ultimate power to pull the plug and end game if they wish, it is up to us as players if we agree with these rules and continue to play or disagree with the rules and stop playing, we have these choices until cryptic make that final decision.

    I am a new player, only been playing 4 or so months.
    I have no problem whatsoever that I cannot get any of any type of reward that has been given out before I ever started playing.
