Basically...it's kind of weird to be playing an Orion, Ferasan, Lethean, or basically anything that isn't Klingon, but have all dialogue in-game treat your character as though he or she is Klingon - both in terms of NPCs talking to you, and you spouting off stuff in random bits of dialogue in Klingon, talking about honor, and so on.
Reman characters in the Republic and non-human Federation characters have a similar problem, but on a much smaller scale since KDF dialogue basically assumes a born and bred Klingon in terms of culture, language, and motivation, whereas the other two mostly just have species issues.

You could keep the Qapla's and other similar things as being osmosis from being a part of the KDF, of course.
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
I take it we both have the only dressed Orions in the game, props hehe
but as for authenticity of the species, would be a good edit to the species dialog, possibly even some background included in it, but the only factor is the Dialog work they would have to do, lot of work for the outcome I'm sure.
ONLY and ONLY if it ends up as another OPTION where we can still pick the default.

so... less an orion, more a human with a really odd spray-on-tan choice
Oh and I play a male Orion that I RP as a "not-a-Syndicate-member". hehe He's currently dressed as an Iconian.

Glad one more romulan finds humans honorable.

The only thing I would have noted is in Surface Tension, The dialogue option where the KDF player enthusiasticly joins Tuvok in defending Earth is not available. Given the Undine threat was the reason given why there was yet another most unwelcome Fed/Klingon war makes them sound quite hypocritical. At best this is an oversight, and I'm not sure I want to give them the benefit of the doubt there. Either way, I am sorely unappreciative of that.

l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
even is KDF non-racist and non-klingons can reach high rank in fleet , u still must act like true warrior .........
but some options in storyline are ......... strange , usually are designed for "nice guys" from Federation and i have serious problem for example in Colliseum prison - say "sorry" to Slamek ....... he is weak and coward
after all , as we know from Enterprise - Klingons have large Empire BEFORE they have word "sorry" in dictionary
Well, my KDF toon is a Klingon due to the aforementioned issues meaning that I'd rather just play a Klingon rather than a Ferasan that goes on and on in a pseudo-Klingon way, but the crew does include an Orion as the security officer, Zifmi. She wears the same red-tinted Bortasqu'-based uniform as the rest of the crew. I also made her as short as possible...because I found it funny when contrasted with my Gorn science officer, who I made as tall as possible.
Yes defending earth is definitely the honorable thing to do, and its dubious why they neglected to give KDF characters that dialouge option.

I like having an Orion go on and on in a klingon way it's a lot more unique than having an orion go on and on in a steriotypical TRIBBLE way.

You'll be surprised how many people disacknowledge Orions as anything other than what stereotypes say they are. Klingons players have similar problems, such as the idea that they are irredeemable, always thuggish, dumber than a bag of hammers, always demanding honor, never doing anything to deserve honor, worthy of extermination, and that they will never be anything better than the piles of $#it they say Klingons are. It doesn't help when some of the devs join in on it too. I remember Tacofang's picture of Kagran with a piece of slime on his forehead. Start disagreeing with them and they use very convenient "logic" and cherry picked facts to tell you why not only your opinion is wrong, but that you were wrong to have that opinion in the first place.
Enh... I still think Orions and Gorn are smarter than Klingons. But.... this is not to say I think Klingons are stupid in general. But they do seem to be less intelligent overall than most other major races.
My character Tsin'xing
I think its less a matter of intelligence and more a combination of society and education... Its like murika... there are pro wrestlers that have had masters and doctorates that go on tv and make asses of themselves because WWE pays more than their field of study would. Why? Because 'Murikaaa is full of dipshits and they have been told to worship sports not intellect. Their brains still have the capacity for so much more but they don't develop it nor do they want to.
Eight of the top ten best universities in the world are in America (and the rest are in the UK, and you can go to any site you like and America will still have at least 5 of the top 10 ranked); two of them are in my home state of Massachusetts, even. American culture also considers you to be a failure or at least not really trying hard enough if you don't have some kind of college degree regardless of whether or not your chosen profession really requires it; in my experience this isn't the case elsewhere, certainly not in Ireland, anyway, the foreign country I've been to the most, where their local equivalent of a high school diploma is considered perfectly adequate for most jobs (because it is, you don't need a college degree for most jobs, American culture simply desires that you have one anyway).
America actually highly values education, thank you very much. This is particularly the case in my home state and home region of Massachusetts and New England, respectively.
Also the belief that sports and intellect are opposed is a false dichotomy; American football, for example, is a very tactics-based game in which intellect can only aid you. The same is true for virtually any other sport you care to name.
(My two Orion characters look at each other, smirk, and then adopt expressions of angelic innocence as they nod agreement, while trying desperately not to laugh out loud)
Lol love your description of Nero
Agreed on this however, you've got a horribly skewed idea of good ol Murrica.
