The Morrigu's Emergency Weapon Cycle and Vastam's All Hands on Deck are staples in most builds. Everything else is so-so.

Unfortunately, there are only two that were distinctly Romulan and one of them, Tactical Retreat, was put into a Lockbox to allow cross-faction use. Any other ones for Romulan ships are shared as they come from cross-faction Ship Bundles. The exclusive is the Warp Shadow from the Aelahl.

You probably want to get that Reciprocity Federation Trait (from the Phantom) from the above mentioned Lockbox Trait pack. That would be one of the two you could get if obtained by a Romulan Character.

All Hands on Deck from the Vestam Command Battlecrusier. Maybe the Emergency Weapons Cycle from the Morrigu.

You can look into the three available from the three Romulan Pilot Ships, to see which one may fit your playstyle.

There are others you get from different Featured Iconian War Arc Episodes and from your Specializations (Command, Intel, Pilot - Pedal to the Metal is good from Pilot) and ones for the T6 Event Ships your Account may have earned.
Others with more experience on maxing out stuff may have more insight into what may fit your playstyle.

If you happen to enjoy playing a hit and run style with your battle cloak the warp shadow trait from the Aelahl is quite useful, makes a decoy copy of your ship that will taunt the enemies and let you come back in from another angle with your cloak ambush active. not much use in STFs and somewhat pointless if you're running a build that just melts npc's but a fun way to play if you want some style with your play.

If you run with cannons, the Malem's "Withering Barrage" is great. It lengthens Scatter Volley uptime to where it has only around one second of cooldown between uses.

If you are squishy, the Faeht's "Tactical Retreat" buffs your Defense, Speed, cancels all Threat, and makes briefly Untargetable when your Hull is less than 25%.

Also, if you aren't determined to get c-store ships, you can consider liquidating some of the zen to pick up lockbox/lobi ships from the exchange for better traits also. The Astika for Supremacy, and the Zahl for Invincible are some good ones. C-store ships do have the advantage of giving you admiralty ships for every Romulan you create though.

And a trait and ship that's usable by every Romulan captain too, including future ones. Until traits or lock box ships can be unlocked for a faction or account a lock box ship is a very expensive way to get a trait for just one alt.

You will typically use only one ship at a time, and many of the traits are barely worth slotting, so that isn't really a huge consideration.

If you have lobi to spare, you can get the lockbox ship, port you character to tribble, play with both the ship and trait. If it doesn't work for you you can at least sell the box on the holodeck

Mostly true, but this thread is specifically about traits and buying ships for the traits not the ship itself.

5 T6 ships, OP? Christmas came early, eh? B)

"All Hands On Deck" from TAC Command FDC/Warbird - Since Warbirds get no Cruiser Commands, my gripe against Cruiser Command selection issues with the Fed & KDF versions doesn't apply to the Warbird version. This ship is quite solid.

"Emergency Weapons Cycle" from T6 Mogai/Morrigu - If you're running EPTW, this is a nice trait to support that for your build.

"Subwarp Sheath" - From the Pilot Ship - Science variant. If you are one to constantly fly at good speeds, this trait will support that. You get penetration values dependent on what speed you're flying. Combine that with Pilot Specialization's "Improved Pedal to the Metal" trait then it's a sweet combo. Again, I recommend this only if you fly your Warbirds with speed and not a turret player.

And this wasn't about buying ships but weighing the pros and cons between buying a c-store or lockbox/lobi ship for traits. The OP didn't mention whether he was definitely planning for a single alt or many, so the considerations were offered to him stating the advantages for either case: single alt = consider lockbox/lobi, multiple = advantage from c-store is mainly from admiralty, not traits/ships.
