Going directly from the Beta Quadrant to ESD

Ok, I think we all understand that Klingons weren't supposed to land on ESD. But while this was possible last Thursday and Friday, another interesting option was also active: beaming directly onto ESD instead of having to enter the Sol system first. This was also possible on Federation characters.

Could we have this option back for Federation characters?

I agree that it was pretty useful.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

That would defeat the purpose of making you fly through the quadrant to get to Sol or using Transwarp.
Also not even close to being something that was possible for an Alpha/Beta quadrant civilization, in the TV shows and TNG films.
Not even the Dominion could transport across dozens or hundreds of lightyears.

Ehm, I think you misunderstand what I meant. A couple of days ago, it was possible to go directly to ESD if you were outside the Sol system, in the Beta Quadrant. So you still had to be at the Sol system in Sector Space, but you could enter ESD with only one map transition, instead of two.

Can we also add a beam up from ESD to Alpha Quadrant? Sol does sit right at the line between quadrants. It'd save me a short flight from Beta and another rezoning to Alpha.

Agreed completely, this was a very nice addition and I was sad to see it removed.

It can't be that hard to make the option fed/fed aligned only. I hope they put it back next patch.

That's not what the OP is asking for. Prior to the patch, when you flew up to Sol System, instead of just having the option 'Enter Sol System,' there was a second option to beam straight to ESD. This option let you bypass the unnecessary extra zone transition from Beta to Sol. You could only use it when you were right over Sol system. You couldn't just use it from anywhere in the quadrant, I agree that would be too much.

All it was was a convenience to bypass Sol system and go right to ESD. Apparently though, the option worked for everyone and KDF characters were using it. Instead of just fixing the option, they removed it completely.

I made an interesting observation while there. KDF can't buy ships there, but KDF allied Remans(and probably the other RR races) can.

Or... we could go the opposite direction, and *allow* Kingons on ESD (and Feds on Qu'Nos and the Flotilla). I mean, we're all just friends now, right?

That actually is my preference as well, but I doubt they will ever actually do it. Reason is, the early game story line has the Klingons and Feds as war with one another. It would look odd to new/lower level players if the 'enemy' were running around their base like everything was fine.

Still, it would be a nice change.
