Cryptic stop being greedy and pay John de Lancie for an appearance

We want the real Q.

I know you are rolling in the Dough. I know a lot of people opened up to 1000 Hearld lock boxes just trying to get a Hearald ship, for example/


He couldn't really want that much just to say a few lines, and make his face a permant part of STO.

    I understand John the lancie no longer wants to have anything to do with Star Trek so place your bets on him joining the STO voice over crew.​​
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Well, he is involved with Star Trek Timelines, a smartphone game. So that kind of blows a hole in that theory.

    Would be stupid to pay him to play someone else.

    Why dont you just fund it out of your own pocket? or do a KS for it... JDL wants his money, it's a business not a charity. Maybe PWI can put a useless bobble on the z-store and if they get total sales of 100 million zen for it they can can hire him for the voice work. /sarcasm

    Yeah you are right..Q is not sitting in all three faction's star bases, and in the Winter Wonderland right now

    I'm pretty sure that's actually Q junior.

    Yes, the voice isn't the actual actor so the only possible explanation has to be that Cryptic is just too cheap to get him.

    There is no other possible reason right?

    Had you bothered to do some background checking, you'd know it was q'junior... While yes, the missions making that extremely clear have been cut from the game, dosen't make it any less true.

    I think back when this was first introduced Q probably wanted too much money, maybe more than they felt he was worth. There was also not so many actor voices in game back then. It looks like he's getting a piece of Timelines, which probably also means he won't be doing anything for STO at all now.

    He is often at conventions and doesn't charge more than others of his 'pay grade.'

    Changes nothing... If the reason was that a dancing hampster had told D'Stahl that Q'junior was the choice he had to go with, it would not change anything either.

    Yes, please fire a couple of developers and also an episode author or two. Use that money to hire DeLancie.

    Hiring the wrong voice actor for Q Junior is much more important than bugs and new content! MUCH. MORE. IMPORTANT.

    I have let this thread run its due course. From a mistaken identity of who the in-game Q is, to development process, to technical and financial assumptions, I think this thread is now ready to die.
