New Security Protocals For Fleet Provisions

I am here today to call out the Devs and say "Hi, what the sh*t?"

You guys have done so well with security protocals concerning us using new devices so we don't get TRIBBLE *applauds* You have a great Transaction Record in the fleet bank (Which is a good way to tell who in your fleet is going to be a greedy lil fungus) *cheers* but omg it's like you're America giving guns to ISIS when it comes to the fleet stores.

Why are there no logs for fleet stores? Do any of you run a fleet with actual people in it? Do you know how easy it is to get conned and wake up one morning and "Oh hey I went to go buy fleet ship weapons but all the provisions are gone" and you're all "o ffs I haven't even had my coffee what is this BS?!?"

I'm out here trying to be all Starfleet with the kind, giving and "we're here to help" attitude that the show embodies but you know what? In the real world we have horrible people who are as****es. I am asking that you please impliment a better way for us to protect what we've got. "But we don't have any reports of problems with the current system" Well now you do!

I know you can limit purchases by rank but it would be nice if there was a way to see who bought what and maybe even limit it based on account, so hey look dude over here donated enough to be promoted to Senior Officer but he just joined three days ago and he's not a chatty Cathy let's promote him but limit his store purchases a bit just til we know what kind of person he is so all the other people who are Senior Officers and we know are good people won't get screwed over by us limiting access for all SOs.

I just feel like Janeway in that episode where they go into the void and offer help then they get screwed by the alien d-head of the week.

I need the tools man! I'm a Fleet Admiral not a Home Depot!

Admiral Liu out!

Op you the reason why NOPublicservice is sorely needed and used by thousand s of players.

Further more that political talk, take it elsewhere.

Out of provisions? Queue more provision projects. It's that simple. You have a whole fleet to provision for, don't skimp on provision projects. And as mentioned, NoPPublicService is a great channel.

Despite the inappropriate manner in which the point was made, it is not a bad idea to give fleet officers the ability to see what is going on with their fleet provisions. Not everyone wishes to rely on NoP; some of us would rather either deal within our own fleets or particular fleets that we have a personal relationship with rather than with unknowns, and that is IMO a perfectly legitimate choice.

Valid points despite the unnecessary tone.

First off, if Joe-Bob's gonna clean you out of provisions and then leave you high and dry, no amount of logs will prevent such an "issue".

Second, if Joe-Bob's donating at a rate to hit "Senior Officer" in three days, you'd figure he can quick-fill a couple of standard provisioning projects to help replace what he cleaned out.

Third, why's your fleet so dang low on provisions that you're actually worried about being taken to the cleaners?
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

    I'll put this out here:

If anyone has been denied access to provisions I will more than happy to let you join my fleet where you can use all the provisions you want free of charge.

hell, id be happy if people actually used all of ours - literally hundreds of provisions in every holding just sitting there collecting dust. Some even have over a thousand available.

Dispite the rudeness here, I'd have to agree. There should at least be a method to determine how many provisions fleet members have used, much like the fleet bank log (not necessarily what specifically was purchased, just the number of provisions used by which member should suffice).

Expanding on this idea somewhat, it might be beneficial to allow fleet leaders to impose limits on how many provisions a fleet member of a given rank would be allowed to use per day, or per week.

I'm all for extra fleet security, so long as it doesn't interfere (too much) with basic day-to-day operations of the fleet!

Yeah, I'm with others on here who are going wut? You're actually running out of stuff? Using provisions requires a TRIBBLE ton of FC and dil...so...yeah...how is this even happening unless you are REALLY bad at slotting fleet projects to account for basic item purchase that your members want.

I will agree with you here, most fleets don't have an issue with provisions if the officers are keeping provisioning projects going. However, with some of the more causal fleets that are actively recruiting, this can be an issue with some of the newer recruits who just want to use FC from their old fleet to buy up provisioned items without helping their new fleet at all. That's just one example, but this IS a problem for developing fleets.

Just because most of us are in Tier 4-5 well developed fleets doesn't mean we should ignore the problems of the smaller lesser developed fleets.

Edit: I don't mean to sound condescending or anthing like that, sorry if I came off as such. And I will agree, while this is a problem, it isn't a terribly large problem so long as the leadership of the fleet is on top of things. :)
