so after seeing several comments from other players about how the caramel assault is basically a visually-distinct copy of the Avalanche, i started wondering to myself why the dev team decided to make another blast assault-themed WW snow gun instead of basing it off an ejection rifle (as first introduced with the xindi-terrestrial box), since its secondary mode of fire does, and i quote: Biomatter Ejection Rifles have a secondary fire mode that covers the ground in a gooey puddle of biomatter which will cause plasma damage and a slow effect to any foes in the area.
seems to me that when dealing with hot caramel, covering the ground with a gooey puddle is far better than an explosion, and then it wouldn't step on avalanche's toes
not really expecting them to change it or anything, just curious as to why they ultimately decided on using blast assault as the CA's base weapon type
Like special weapons from other Star Trek games? Wondering if they can be replicated in STO even a little bit? Check this out:

I had the same thoughts myself when i first used it why not a big puddle of carmel goo on the ground like the xindi rifles secondary.
