So no mention of Omega Stabilisation minigame?

I've been looking forward to that for some free upgrades. Guess they are not doing it?

Probably saving it for the Anniversary Event.

That was during the anniversary event, not summer or winter events.

We'll see what happens, but I stick to my belief that they will never run this event again.. ever.

Not at all, I would love to have this event back, I just don't think they'll give it to us again.

It was without question the most generous and overall profitable (to the players) event of all time. I don't think they'll give us another opportunity like that. It's basically an event that lets you get everything to Gold Mark XIV for basically free.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong, but I don't think they'll ever run this event again.

I wouldn't say everything, considering not everything I crafted hit gold, and that was with several hundred of those techs used on mk ii everything!

makes me wish I had started playing a year earlier, so I could take advantage of that event when it did happen.

Wasn't it an anniversary mini-game? It's not Anniversary yet, is it?

luckily you will not have to wait long for the anniversary event as it follows on almost directly after the winter event ends, I suspect they will rerun the Omega Molecule Stabilization mission, it was very popular with players at the time and I am sure it was good for their player participation metrics.

no matter how much we upgrade we can always find something more we want to upgrade.

When your body's had enough of STO
And your laying flat out on the floor
When you think you've upgraded all you can
your gonna upgrade a little bit more.

Come on over and play by my side
I've got to be touching you.
Let me rub your tired shoulders
The way I used to do.

Look into my eyes and give me that smile
The one that always turns me on
And let me take your hair down
Cause we're staying up to greet the sun.

And when your body's had enough of STO
And your laying flat out on the floor
When you think you've upgraded all you can
your gonna upgrade a little bit more.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Hope they do run it again, during the Anniversary - still have a small number left over from the last one.

I hope they do too. I'm hoping I'm wrong and that the event will return.

Might be worth keeping in mind that we should get two anniversaries next year too: STO's own annual one AND the 50th anniversary of Trek as a whole.

indeed, I said in another thread the 50th anniversary of Star Trek needs to be and indeed deserves to be celebrated with a monumental event.

I hope they have something spectacular lined up for this unique celebration of Treks golden jubilee.

    I'm optimistic it will return.

Just like event ships preview T6 ship capabilities or features (intel Ltc seating on Sarr Theln Carrier, LtC command on Samsar Cruiser, pilot LtC on Nandi Destroyer, LtC universal/command on Rezreth Dreadnought), so do the Omega games preview having some gear upgraded in quality, while the 2x tech point bonus events are like a sale on mark improvements similar to C-Store sales.

One can put these 2 events together to get the most out of them, like buying zen during zen bonuses, and then using it during C-Store sales. Of course for upgrades that means up to half a year or more of waiting only to have new gear show up by that time, but at least older gear isn't obsoleted in any way.

Not exactly, but close. The omega project, at least as it works in my R&D, grants the free upgrade, but it is without chance to increase the rarity. You'll still need to run a few of the standard R&D upgrade projects (at some cost) to get that rarity upgrade.

Still, it was a very nice event.

Omega upgrades have a massive chance for rarity increase compared to every other upgrade I've seen.

Slap one of those on a mk II purple and you had a good chance of ending up with a mk VII gold.

I actually don't mind the game...I got pretty good at it, and with a keyboard too, not a mouse. I hope they *do* bring it back, though it is going to be critical for them to REALLY resolve the map transition crashes (I'll believe that's fixed when I *see* it) and server lag before that goes live or we're going to be doing the rubberband dance again.

You're either not familiar with the Omega Event or you're confusing it for another event.

Omega Upgrades offer the biggest upgrade chance of any component and they can be earned for free as much as you want depending on how much time you're willing to spend.
