Can we have Holodecks/Holosuites please?

When you're a FED Cadet, you get to go in the Holodecks, when you're on Bajor and that dull mission, you get to use them again and in that Nog and Krenim episode, you get a very sorry excuse of playing in one...but can we please have proper ones please?

On our ships, in Quarks, on our respective homeworlds, etc.

I agree they don't utilise the holodecks enough, only problem is this requires content that they would have to create, alternatively I cant see why they never utilised the holodecks as the interface for foundry content, as most holodeck programmes in star trek are created by the holodeck users themselves this seems entirely in keeping with star trek canon.
it would also alleviate the annoyance of having to make your way to the foundry mission starting hotspot, foundry missions could be started from what ever holodeck is nearest for the player be it on ships, at quarks, star fleet academy or qo'nos wherever.

just enter the holodeck call up the foundry menu from the arch interface choose the mission you want and click the prompt to start the mission, simples.

ground and space missions would be executed exactly as they are in the bajor home world mission.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Not that logic is a priority all the time, but aren't Foundry missions supposed to be real, as in actually happening ? The holodeck merely provides an interactive movie...

hate to tell you but none of sto is real.
but seriously your splitting hairs they are what you want them to be.

May they could just water-down an STF or PvE...just a snippet from one of the episodes and a space or ground battle, without all the cut-screens, dialogues and monotonous tasks and just some action.

I'd like an in-ship holodeck as well. They don't need new content to make it useful at first. They can simply start by moving episode replays there so that they will truly be from a "mission simulator".

Then in the future they can add content.

Just give us an option to replay episodes from there, without having to fly to the locations outside the ship interior.

Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

using the holodeck without using some of the existing content would be a mammoth task to create enough content to make the endeavor worthwhile and would take the devs away from making actual mission content for future updates, I don't belive the devs would be inclined to allow mission content replays to be accessed via the holodeck either.

I still feel the best source of material for holodeck navels is foundry content, its already in existence and just really a matter of moving the hot spot that's executes the content from their existing spots like the kdf transporter room terminal and on ESD to the holodeck arch's.

even if its just ground only foundry missions that are accessed in this way there is loads of content there to keep us busy.

This is something I wished we had too (in addition to a tailor and shuttlebay on our ships :P)

Ideally holodecks would be used for both existing official content and 'holonovel' content from the Foundry. I made a simple-to-implement proposal to turn all holodecks into a Foundry gateway for holo-content here: arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/discussion/1193978/universal-holodeck-panel-door-for-holo-missions, but unfortunately, Dev time goes into projects that show a concrete return on investment, and that's hard to prove with Foundry development work - even on very simple fixes like the one I proposed. :(
