Reputation Ship Rewards

I'll not take complete credit for this idea, but I think it's one that could do with it's own topic:

Another thing that would be nice yet i doubt we would see it, would be a reputation project or event to gain a ship that fits this reputation style an design. There is afew ways such a thing can be done, first would be doing a project that you need large amount of materials to complete, and i mean huge taking atleast a month of time i would say before you have what you need to complete it. I would also say it should take a new form of mark that is introduced with the changes. The second would be more of a event that happens focusing on one of the reps an in which you gain items that you can put towards retrieving a special reputation ship designed an developed by the rep. Good thing with such a change you could for go doing unque designs per-se an go more the route of the reputations revamping older models with new tech that reps use, and so using the base design model of these ships in the rep ship giving those seeking older models a different way of see them done.

Each Ship requires a substantial amount of Marks (50,000 - 100,000 +) in addition to special items (like Processing Nodes or Ancient Power Cells, and then maybe some Crafting items on top of that?)

Omega Rep = Cooperative Sphere
Nukara Rep = Tholian Raider (of some sort)
Romulan Rep = Vulcan Ship (maybe not for KDF, they'd get something different?)
Dyson Rep = Voth Raider?
Undine Rep = Undine Carrier (of some sort)
Delta Rep = Kobali Science Ship (of some sort)
Iconian Rep = An actual Iconian (not Herald) ship
Terran Rep = Mirror Versions of current flagships (Oddy/Bortas/Scimitar)
Cardassian Rep (it'll come) = Keldon

Feel free to provide other suggestions, though as stated, I think this idea/concept might be worth something. Maybe if [said] ship uses the weapons associated with that rep, they get a further boost/ability too?

So, the big question here is why do you think this would be a good idea? Some of these ships would probably be better off as Lockbox ships (apart from the Cooperative Sphere and a Keldon ship, since those should be tied to their respective factions).

It'd work as admiralty ships, especially if some of them were sci. (Seriously, I've got 10 1x cards kdf side, and none are science. Closest is the Nandi.)

Best thing to hope for is to gain access to admiralty cards for those ships, but gaining access to those ships themselves is never going to happen.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

50,000 marks and 20 elite marks would work for something T-5U or T6 level, if we're talking about playable SHIPS.

Admiralty card only ships hould be priced at 500-1000 marks most likely

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

Yeah, right. Like Cryptic is going to commit themselves to making Rep ships that wouldn't also require ridiculous amounts of dil, let alone make Rep ships for past Reps, many of which still don't even have the basics of the new Reps.

Doubtful that these things would be added without them being placed in a lockbox, as some have pointed out. And that's something I am grateful for, non-faction ships should remain with the Lobi store or the boxes if we want to keep a normal amount of Federation ships around ESD etc.

Although I guess that some special shuttles could work.

But I'd rather see more other special stuff added to the reputations. More special Boff's, perhaps new funny consumables like special grenades or something like that. Oh, and the current consumables (like the Reman guards) should be reduced in price.
Some stuff that would be nice to have in missions and that would give a reason to keep collecting marks after you're finished with the reputation itself.

It would be nice, but I don't see it happening. Cryptic wants you buying c-store or lockbox ships.

    Actually...

What if these "rep ships" were unlocked as c-store purchases once you reached the required rep level? That way...
    • Players get access to an impressive reward for finishing up a given reputation
    • Cryptic gets money for new ships
    • Cryptic only has to design 1 ship per rep that all factions can use, as opposed to 1 ship per faction for c-store items.

    With the following under consideration:
    • Purchasing a "rep ship" from the C-store is an account-wide unlock (for consistency) that gives you a bound, packed ship
    • This packed ship cannot be opened unless the associated reputation is maxed.

    As a less-desirable alternative:
    • You buy a "reputation ship requisition token" from the c-store. Single unlock.
    • You use this "reputation ship requisition token" in a reputation project to receive your ship.
    • This is less desirable to altoholics like myself, because while it might seem like I'd end up spending more to outfit all my characters, I'd actually spend less because I wouldn't be able to justify it. Meanwhile, account-wide unlocks are a worthwhile investment because they're more permanent in nature.

Everybody wins! I know I'd probably throw money at such things.

What would be the cost? A million dilithium per ship? I don't Cryptic would do this for free or cheap...may even cost zen to unlock and only a single character unlock.

the big problem I see would be players complaining this is too much of a grind to do on multiple characters and how they want an account unlock for these ships.
look how they carried on about event ship account unlocks and that only took a few minutes each day for 25 days and didn't cost anything more to gain so no Marks, Crafting items or other special items required to get them.

they had a great chance with T5 ship upgrades to tie in with reputation projects but they would rather sell them for zen, can you honestly see cryptic giving away so many actual ships.

the idea has also been raised to have a similar system to build a fleet ship and this has never been considered worthy of inclusion by cryptic so I can see the idea of reputation ships going down like a lead balloon.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
