New Dyson Ships?

Wondered if anyone knew if this was in the cards at all for the future. I love the ship designs/look. Not a fan though of a separate energy weapon type.

I would love to have some classic cruisers and escorts re-imagined as T6 ships with the Dyson hull; especially the Star Cruiser and the Saber. Maybe instead of different modes, just adding an intelligence, command, or pilot dual boff station?

    It's doubtful. Consider the way the plot is going. Maybe one day when the iconians become involved again but presently you have a long line of T6 remakes, more temporal ships (there's at least one dreadnought we might see playable in the future), more enemy factions, and of course more new ships (it's unlikely we've seen the last specialization) to get through before the question of new Dyson ships comes up.

    I wouldn't be against it (See. uniform in avatar) but I'm not too hopeful ATM.

    Actually, a Dyson T6 would be great... its a nice ship, just need the removal, or at least the upgrade of the protonic cannons

    Yeah i would love at least to see some of the ideas of the dyson ships put forth into new ships. Like the mode-changing system that shifted your boff-layout thru switching a boffs station with another boffs, which would also disable or enable different functions for your ship giving you effectively a hybrid ship that could fill two roles. To me the original dysons were science/escort hybrid ships, while i would not mind seeing a mode-changing carrier/dreadnought that might shift its tactical officer with a engineering officer, though also a hybrid science/cruiser would be fun too. Really the big draw of this type of ship is being able to use aspects an shift your play-style based on what you desire to play, or on what is happening an would best help your survival.

    I would agree the protonic weapons do need a slight upgrade and/or change, not so much in how they work, but more in that there is so few ways of boosting them compared to the other options out there. I think though you would need to re-balance them as being able to boost a shield bypassing weapon could get really op if not careful. Personally i would rather see it give a stacking shield by-passing buff that causes your weapons with the percentage being increased with the stack size, or even just that it destabilizes the target's shields making them have a higher bleed thru based on stack size (this would need to either be specific for your weapon or proton based weapons, or reduced % per stack if it is group wide). So what do you all think? What kind of change or upgrade would you want to see to the protonic weapons to see them more useful, or even make them more competitive? Though what exactly makes them so bad is debated abit.

    I'd say the best could hope for is a T6 Destroyer but I would say even that is a big iffy.

    I'd like to see the Romulan ones get some love, because they are rather nice looking and the scarcity of Romulan Ships.

    If they just made Proton energy a universal that can benefit from any Energy weapon console, it would be a phenomenal improvement.

    I can agree out of all the dysons the romulan are the best looking, with the fed being the worst an wish they would remodel them even if it was using a slightly more command battle-cruiser design look would be nice. Hell even using some of the older designs as a base-line could make them look like ugly in my eyes.

    Yeah i think the fact that the proton weapons only being buffed by a secondary bonus on a tactical console that primarily buffs the main energy types (phaser, disruptor, and so on.) is an issue that holds them back quite abit. I find it funny we get a starship trait "point defense system" (i think that is the name) that activates a proton turret on your ship firing proton energy at enemies nearby, still nice yet would be better if the energy type was based on your ship's primary energy type. Adding a new console that would buff just proton damage, or making it that as said proton is buffed by any other type even if it were at 75-80% of the main energy type of the console it would be a great improvement.
