Idea for beaming down to public areas...

Would be nice if we could beam down to public areas with a bridge officer or two. Like we have the ability to on New Romulus.

No argument. Wish more zones had that feature (and it's not a new wish, either). That said, I can see that it wouldn't work everywhere and could contribute to screen pollution and lag.

Eh, if there is no purpose behind it other then aesthetics, simply put an option to not display in the graphics settings. "Don't display other players Bridge Officers in Social Maps." That would kill a lag problem for the players experiencing it and let the kit monkies with the higher end computers look at each other's space barbies...

    On a side note...

Has anybody else noticed that their Talaxian Toon doesn't whack his/her combadge with his/her hand when beaming up?

Honestly? I'd be more than happy if we had the option to replace our captain in social zones. Even if mission dialog was disabled.

the idea is at places like new rom you are libel to face hard combat so may need some back up otherwise you might be 2 or even 3 against you, in places like ESD, DS9 and such you will not face this situation so no need for even a small away team of a bridge officer or two to watch your back.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Well, it might be fun to be able to bring a small cadre down to ESD, just to show off the customizations you have made. Yep, this would totally be an improvement to the true STO endgame: Space Barbie.

As far as Daveyny's observation about Talaxian BOffs not hitting their combadge: if you think about it, it makes some sense. Generally speaking, Fed characters make this motion, Rom and KDF do something else. Talaxians are available to all factions, so rather than do the wrong animation, they do none.

isn't there a reputation reward for pet Entourage to follow you around.
wouldn't that be just as good?
