I've suddenly started having problems when trying to "Open in a new tab" in both Chrome and IE. A new tab will open, but will immediately jump back to the Forums root instead of the conversation I wanted to open. Anybody else seeing this?
EDIT:
There's a solid workaround for the issue, described by a few posters below. Here's a succinct but thorough set of directions from TheGrandNagus:
1) get the "adblock" extension for your browser.
2) once installed, add this customer filter:
http://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/themes/Arc/js/*
3) then, use this link for your bookmark to this board(STO general discussion):
http://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/categories/star-trek-online-general-discussion
And here is the bookmark url for the forum home:
http://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/
After you have done all of this, your ARC overlay will be gone and you can right click/open new tabs as normal

Sorry, just updated the OP. Realized I forgot to explicitly describe the problem. The tab opens, and is actually momentarily in the correct page, then jumps back to the root of the STO Forums.

Left-click is fine, right-click > open in new tab is broken.
Help us, @pwlaughingtrendy , you're our only hope!
Sorry, I can't commiserate on this one just yet...

Thanks, Trendy.

Do you see the "#" after "startrekonline"? Now, if you go to the general discussion board and mouse over this thread, it does not show the "#" after "startrekonline", but rather at the end of the url after the word "tab":

Somebody made some changes behind the scenes today, and (among other things?) it screwed up the forum urls. So if you click on any "old" url(I'm assuming, ones that were created before today's change), they do not have the "#" in the correct place, so it takes you to the home forum root by default. It's not your browser.

^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...
Ok so it's not just me ! I was worried there for a moment !
Can we maybe just do away with all the forced redirects? They seriously hamper the Vanilla forum system and the embedded site is horrible on mobile devices. Having to block so many of your redirect attempts just now and it seems silly. Let people choose whether they want to use embedded or not please, by all means make embedded the default like it currently is but don't force it on people if they prefer the non embedded version.
Why do I not feel sooo..., secure, any more....?

I miss the Original STO Forums, who ever set those up would be considered a Hero, compared to what's going on now-a-days.
